I put the blue painters tape on the wood then gloe the pattern to the blue tape then put the packing tape over the pattern to lube the blade ? and keep from smudging the ink on the pattern. works well for me. Never a problem for me.

Whenever they look dirty, which takes a long time with the other collection I use.

I wear a 3M Half face mask with 2 canisters, also have a dust collector running sucking from the top and bottom of the saw table and a box fan hanging from the ceiling with a pleated filter on the intake side. Works for me. Might be a little over kill?

Mine has no cover to remove, I simply loosen the nut and adjust the screw and tighten the jam nut.

Sounds like you need to turn the tension knob on the back of the arm a few turns then do the alignment. I think you need to turn CCW.

I like my HF 1 Hp DC, much quieter than a shop vac.

I bought a 3M 6000 series half face mask with 3M 2091 P100 Particulate filters a few months ago and like it.
