  2. I have looked at that pattern and always thought it would be a fun one to cut. Thanks for posting your nicely done pattern for all of us to enjoy Dick heppnerguy
  3. Obviously a time well spent in the shop, Mimi. The project about Henrietta is certainly one that helps bring healing and continual memories for her. All are very well done. .. Congratulations Dick heppnerguy
  4. Nice collection of items. My favorite one is probably the wind Chimes. I bet they are sweet sounding when the winds blows Dick heppnerguy
  5. You certainly found your nitch. There are a very large amount of vehicles to keep you doing new ones, that is for sure. You keep knocking these out and maybe some day you will have made all the cars ever made..... Probably not Dick heppnerguy
  6. That looks great and the use of a recycled cabinet door is perfect and makes a nicely framed sign with no framing work to do extra. I like it Dick heppnerguy
  7. Denny, Really nice work on the box. Your inlay came out perfect. There is nothing but a beautifully done box. I too need to get back to trying inlay. I was not very happy with my last effort, so I only need to venture on like you did and see some good results Dick heppnerguy
  8. Sorry to hear about your friends cancer. We are now, going through a cancer thing with my youngest son. Hopefully both your friend and my son will beat this horrible disease that takes so many people's lives. Dick heppnerguy
  9. nice group or projects, all done quite well Dick heppnerguy
  10. A rather scary friend you have. I am not into spooks and scary things but your work here is very well executed Dick heppnerguy
  11. We have so much in common already.. I was born in Tillamook and raised in the Portland area. I lived 36 years in Tigard and 15 years in Heppner. We moved to Arizona 3 years ago. How did you know I was from Oregon....? Just curious about that. You said you live in Mesa? I have a son that lives in Chandler and a grandson who moved there a few months ago. I will PM you on your page here. If I do it that way you will see that you have mail when you log in and all you need to do is click on it to read it. I will pm you my phone number. Dick heppnerguy
  12. Welcome to The Village. There are a lot of friendly and helpful people here who are always willing to help one another. I am a little curious about what it is that you are scrolling that has you using such thick wood. What kind of things are you cutting? I little curious, as I almost never use wood thicker then 1/2 inch. Glad you found us here and I hope you log on often so we all can get to know you better Dick heppnerguy
  13. We will be leaving for Oregon the first of July for two months but perhaps we could get together some time. I have met several people from The Village and made some pretty good friends as a result. Just a thought. Might be interesting Dick heppnerguy
  14. Welcome to The Village. I have 2 EX's and I love them. I have had a Ryobi, two DeWalts, and a Hawk. Scroll saws are like cars. One person loves Fords and another like their Dodge and then there is the Chevy person out there. Each one has a car that fits their fancy. Same with saws. I dreamed of owning a RBI Hawk and found one for one $65 at an estate sale. I snapped it up. I had a DeWalt at the time and I liked it pretty well. It turned out that i was not impressed with the design of the Hawk and used it very little. I finally gave it to my daughter. Then a friend of mine ask me if I was interested in buying his Excalibur and I jumped on it with both feet. I fell in love with that saw and wanted to get my hands on another one, as they had stopped producing them for awhile and found them hard to find. One day I jumped on craigslist and found an almost non used Ex for $200. I had it home within the hour. So good luck on your choices. Dick heppnerguy
  15. Welcome to The Village. We are all pretty friendly and helpful people and love it when someone new decides to be a member here. I see you live in Arizona. I too live in Southern Arizona. I live in Casa Grande, if you know where that is. Enjoy your time here and keep that scroll saw humming Dick heppnerguy
  16. Good luck with you Hawk. They are one of the top saws out there. I found one at an estate sale for $65. Boy was i excited. They could not find the stand for it but my son had a metal stand for a portable table saw. I sanded off a little rust and painted it the same red as the saw and it looked like it belonged to it. I really did not like it very much and gave it to my daughter, who still has it and uses it fairly often. Glad you found us here in The Village and I hope you stick around so we all can get to know you better Dick heppnerguy
  17. Hard to stay away from the scrolling crowd and that saw that keeps on calling you to see down and get busy making things. Glad you were not able to stay away any longer. It sounds like you were a regular here. I have to say that I do not remember you, but perhaps you left before I became a member or perhaps I just hadn't come out of my shell yet. Welcome back. Dick heppnerguy
  18. Mr William Jones, I would like to introduce myself....My name is Richard William Jones..I bet that catches your eye.. I want to welcome you to our family. I life in Southern Arizona and I have been in this family of scrollers for several years now. One of the first things I learned was, if you log on often and comment on the posts you read, you will quickly find that you are getting to know the regulars pretty well and before you know it, you seem to consider them your friends. Everyone I have ever contacted or seen making comments are always friendly and helpful. I hope to see you on here a lot. I have been a little absent from here lately as my son is in the process of moving into a brand new home and he wanted to add a lot of things to his house, inside, before he moved there. I have been away a lot over the past couple of weeks so the shop has been on hold and so has my computer, while I did my best to help him, where ever I could. Enjoy you scroll saw and be sure and post your work so we too can enjoy it. Dick heppnerguy
  19. WELCOME to The Village from Southern Arizona. Take time to look around and you may be surprised at what you find hidden in the corners. There are several good tutorials that may help you with Inkscape tool Your work you posted is well done. Be sure and log on often and get to know everyone a little better. You will understand why we consider ourselves family. Dick heppnerguy
  20. Very nicely done. it is truly nice and crisp. A fun one to cut and display Dick heppnerguy
  21. that is one heck of a great piece. Impressive to say the least. You did such a great job detailing this one. It has to be the most amazing piece I have seen from a member of The Village. Don't get me wrong, as there are a ton of fabulous and amazing pieces posted here, but this one is the number one in my memory. Hats off to you Dick heppnerguy
  22. I have never experience blades with obvious oil on them. I have found since I changed my clamp inserts I have never had a blade slip on me since, I will continue to do a bi yearly insert change on my clamps now. However if I do get blades with a noticeably amount of oil on them, I will use your tip anyway. Great idea. That is one of the things I love about The Village.....new ideas and people that share them with everyone else. We can all learn from each other here Dick heppnerguy
  23. I have never seen this drill press before. It sure appears to be made well. Nice when you find a tool that works really well for you, Enjoy it for a long time Dick heppnerguy
  24. I found the double tooth #3 and #5 Dutchman and Olsen brands worked really well for me. They are not very aggressive so I found them easy to keep control of my cuts with; After years of intarsia and scrolling I have switched to Pegas blades which are more aggressive and I now prefer them. You may find you will make blade preferences as you scroll more. Try different brands and sizes, that is the only way you will know what you really like Dick heppnerguy
  25. Nice to see you being able to get back into your sales. I know you worked hard to ready for them and have lost a couple of your regulars. thanks for the videos. A beautiful area indeed. I was stationed in NC when I was in the Army in 1958- 1961. I did not like the humidity there in the summer. We have really high temperatures here in Arizona but really low humidity so it works pretty well for me. Good luck, I hope as people start getting out and about more , you make up the sales you have lost. Dick heppnerguy
