  1. Hard to say. All of them are worth the time to make and all would be appreciated Dick heppnerguy
  2. that is a great example of " something that takes a lot of time and effort, always proves to be worth is in the end." Very nice job Dick heppnerguy
  3. California is one of the most expensive states to live in, for sure. We had no plans to move to Arizona but we are glad we have done so. That is a long way away from where you are now. Have you been looking at houses on line yet? Good luck, I hope it works out as well for you as it has for us Dick hepppnerguy
  4. I always ask a scroller I meet, like at the wood store for example, if they are members of any scroll page and tell them to look into Scrollsaw Village. You never know what might come of giving the invitation to others Dick heppnerguy
  5. And I bet they brought a lot of blessing to you, just to be able to share what you both enjoy Dick heppnerguy
  6. they just do not understand what they are missing by not connecting with others that have the same love for scrolling Dick heppnerguy
  7. wow... nice work these fret pieces always turn out so special while challenging yourself at the same time. Always worth the effort and time to cut and finish Dick heppnerguy
  8. I love all of your new projects. The first one is a lot of fun to make and mystifies people when they see it. Of course everyone loves the personal part of a plaque with their names on it. Dick heppnerguy
  9. How true, Marg. I was so disappointed to not have that honor. Things just didn't allow it to, but you are always welcome to come back to the States and this time, maybe Arizona would have something that might interest you enough to spend a little time here Dick heppnerguy
  10. Tennessee? Are you moving to there? That is a long way from California Dick heppnerguy
  11. As some of you know, I have personally met several of the scroll saw family members. As a result, I have some new friends that I contact whenever I have the opportunity to do so. I have been able to go to Paul's (scrappile) house several times and we have become great friends and talk often on the phone. The first person I met from here was Travis, our chief cook and bottle washer. You know, the person that does all the hard work to keep us up and running smoothly. We had lunch together, a couple of years ago. And Ralph who lives in Aloha, Oregon. We too have met and chatted a couple of times. Anyway yesterday I had the opportunity to drive 45 minutes and meet yet another rather new and very talented member. He is not only very talented but he was very enjoyable to talk with. His name is Bill and he goes by 'cashew', here. Usually after I have visited with one of our members, people ask, "where are the photos ?". So this time I took a photo of both of us to show you. I am the ugly one on the left side in the photo. If you have never met any of the members here, I would suggest that you take the time to do so. An hour drive is worth your time. Dick heppnerguy
  12. I try to put her first in all I do, this really helps us to have a good life together Dick heppnerguy
  13. i would love to cut that one also.. You did a great job on this one for sure Dick heppnerguy
  14. Nice to hear that others cherish the time with their mates as so many go about just doing their own thing and almost forgetting that they are married, it seems Dick heppnerguy
  15. He loves his jeep and has a lot of fun with it, but at the same time, makes sure it is drive-able for the return trip home. He tries to take good care of it. Not sure if that is a good Jeep guy or not Dick heppnerguy
  16. No one can give us what our mate can. Hopefully a long life of working to keep us happily together Dick heppnerguy
  17. We do cherish all of our time together.. We first met when my wife was only 12 years old. We started going together in high school and have been continually in love since 1957. Not a lot of life left for us so we cherish want ever God will give us. Dick heppnerguy
  18. My daughter was here in Arizona for a couple of weeks with her new husband, helping my younger son to ready and move into his new house. While they were here, my daughter told me her husband's birthday is next month and since we will be going up to Oregon for a couple of months, she wondered if I could make a plaque of Chris's Jeep, as it is something he really enjoys. She sent me a photo of his jeep so I made a pattern from it and cut this plaque for her to give to her husband on his birthday. She saw it before she left for home a couple of days ago and said that she really liked it. I was about 1/3 finished cutting it at that time. Here is the results. Dick heppnerguy
  19. I have been trying to spend more time with my wife and less in my shop. She does not complain of my time there but we are getting up there in age and I know we do not have a lot of time left to be together, so I do not want to spend too much time away from her and then have to regret that I put my hobby time in front of our time together. . That said, The Jones plaque is for my older son as part of his upcoming birthday. The letter plaque is an added present to my great granddaughter who is having an birthday this week and I thought she might like this little tuck in. It is a Steve Good pattern. The Baby star plaque is for our third new great grandbaby born within this calendar year. This one is a Sue Mey pattern and I have another new great grandson who will be born this month also and I am just waiting for the date to get that one finished. Dick heppnerguy
  20. Thank you for your concern for my son too. It is not a very comfortable thing to go through. Dick heppnerguy
  21. I agree with you. You can spend more time making a pattern, only to find that it is not exactly what they had in mind and you do it again. It can become more then you bargained for and usually end up with something that is just okay but not EXACTLY what they were after. I have been there and it usually is not easy to understand what someone is thinking. An example might be......'no, the flames are up higher or lower or longer or not that long . I try to please with a special order and often I wish I had not because what they are after is only embedded in their heads and I am not able to see into it. Dick heppnerguy
  22. It is easy to see why you are happy with this one. You did a great joy with your extra touches. I am glad you did that and posted it for the rest of us to enjoy Dick heppnerguy
  23. Nice cutting. Les. I bet you are out in the shop as I type this, anxious to get it framed and finished. Hope you post it when you are done.,,I would love to see it Dick heppnerguy
  24. You are onto a new venture in scrolling. I bet we will see a lot of these from you around Christmas time. well done, girl. Dick heppnerguy
  25. Looks like it came out pretty dang nice, but I know what you mean about the wood. The correct wood choices, depending on the pattern to be cut is really important and adds or distracts a lot if the choice was not perfect. Dick heppnerguy
