  3. I have never been a television person but I do remember how much I loved the radio programs. I still occasionally listen to some of those. Takes me back to 'the good old days." Dick
  4. Oops..... that just goes to show you how poorly my old mind almost works.. Dick heppnerguy
  5. Another of your beautifully done patterns. You brought back some real memories with Sky King and his 'Songbird'. So I have a Sky King trivia for you Bernd. Can you recall Sky King's nieces name? I remember it, do you? Dick heppnerguy
  6. very nicely cut. I think, if I remember correctly, that you cut your pieces with a hand powered scroll saw. Very nicely done. Dick heppnerguy
  7. You can't get a better reaction then that. It is so heart warming to have someone react that to a give you made yourself. I made a plaque for our mail lady a few years ago and took it to her in the morning before she started her delivery day and she also cried and then she began showing it to everyone that came into the post office. Dick heppnerguy
  8. I enjoyed viewing all your projects. If I had one suggestion it would be on the work art... I think you would be wiser to choose a more bold lettering for the main word as it would give you more support for the smaller ones and it just might help with the breakage problem you are having Dick heppnerguy
  9. Really nice of you. Our police need reminders from all of us that we appreciate all they do, on a daily basis, for us citizens. Our country has fallen a long was downward with all the police hatred. We are lucky to have men and women who are willing to put their lives on the line for the rest of us Dick heppnerguy
  10. Congratulations. Your beautiful piece smoked out the competition. Very easy to see why you won. Dick heppnerguy
  11. Happy Canadian Thanksgiving. I hope you enjoy it with family and friends. I will have to talk with my Canadian neighbor and see just how you celebrate your Thanksgiving compared to ours Dick heppnerguy
  12. marvelous job. It is a really cool piece. I love it. Dick heppnerguy
  13. Nicely done and a great momentum for this wonderful time in his life. Dick heppnerguy
  14. Wow, what a nice sign. One could never tell it was a problem to cut. Dick heppnerguy
  15. I love that one and have been going to cut it for some time and then I don't seem to get to it and forget about it. Thanks for posting your well done piece and rattling my two brain cells to look into it again. I am not sure where I have seen it, but I will start my search and see if I can find it once again Dick heppnerguy
  16. that's a cool idea.. I like it a lot. Way to go Dick heppnerguy
  17. Hang in there, Kevin. keep knocking out the scroll work, it probably helps to keep you mind a little off your health issues. You are inspiring others to 'get out to their shops and make some sawdust' Dick heppnerguy
  18. Both look very nice. It sure brings one a lot of pleasure when you give a piece of you hobby to someone else to enjoy. I especially like making things for my wife and family. Dick heppnerguy
  19. Here is a handy maintenance video for all the DeWalt 788 owners. Check it out if you want to have your scroll saw running well for years to come. Dick heppnerguy
  20. We are indeed, Kevin. Whenever one of us sees someone's question or need, if gets jumped on and answered to the best of a member's ability Dick heppnerguy
  21. Thank you, Don. I just could not remember.. Will check out the book too Dick hepppnerguy
  22. Hi all you good people. I am looking to purchase this John Wayne pattern but for some reason I haven't found to name of the person that made to pattern so i can buy it. I have seen this cut several times and I have someone that would like to have me cut one for them. Thank you in advance for the information I am seeking Dick heppnerguy
  23. I have used several different spray glue as well as the large glue sticks and I also have used the same method of removing my patterns, glued directly to the wood as mentioned by Brenda. I also use blue painters tape on my wood first and then place my sprayed pattern on it. Both methods work really well. Remember you only need a light spray on the back of your pattern and none on the wood. Make sure the surface of the wood or tape is clean and free of any dust or dirt. after spraying your pattern, wait about one of two minutes to apply the pattern to your wood. Don't worry that you do not have enough glue or that it will not stick after waiting. You can even wait longer and it will be OKey. Dick hepnerguy
  24. We made a big move from Oregon to Arizona 3 years ago and I sold some of my tools to make sure I would have enough room for the other items we were going to move and I regret some of my choices I made in tools to dispense with. You are going about it in a better way then I did, for sure. Six months is a long time but then time does go by quickly. I loose 2 to 3 months each summer, when we go to Oregon for the extremely hot summer months in Arizona. It does take awhile to feel back in touch with things when I return but most of all I miss the contacts with people here in The Village. Good luck with you move and keep us all posted as to how things are going to you and your family. Dick heppnerguy
  25. Welcome from sunny and warm Arizona. I see you have been keeping that saw humming and putting out some fun pieces. You already have been posting pretty well so that is what I try to encourage in new people that pick us to share with. If you keep on posting, not only you work but also your comments to other's work, you will quickly feel right at home here and before long you will suddenly realize that you have a bunch of new friends that you feel you have known for years.
