  5. Don, we all delighted that you choose us to become a part of your wood working life. Here in The Village are many talented and helpful people from all over the World. You and I live about as far apart as one can get in the continental United States, but we are now family. If you log on here often and let us get to know you and you get to know us, you will quickly understand why I say this. So welcome to The Village, world wide family from Southern Arizona. We all hope to see you here often in the near future as well as way in the future. Dick heppnerguy
  6. Cool photo . I really love the old steam trains. Too bad so many people were not alive to see them on a regular run
  7. A good clock for an important reminder. Well done, Rocky Dick heppnerguy
  8. This came out really looking great. Your work cutting and finishing deserves a 'hats off to you' Dick heppnerguy
  9. CNC is sneaking into the family.. Just kidding with you, Roly. It certainly is gaining in popularity and can be a really nice addition to scrolling. I certainly see how they can compliment what we all have been doing for such a long time. The box lids look very nice with this accent. I hope to see a lot more of your work with it, soon Dick heppnerguy
  10. It is awesome to see the looks on the proud guys that are holding your hand made trophies they are going to take home and proudly display as a remembrance of a winning moment of theirs. Very well designed and made. Dick heppnerguy
  11. cute piece. A hand made piece of art that is not only good looking and personal but also functionable as well. Dick heppnerguy
  12. I have been looking at the napkin patterns for a long time but never cut one yet. I love Sue Mey patterns so much. She is so talented. You made her proud with the great cutting and finish work on this one Dick heppnerguy
  13. I have quickly become a fan of one of our newest SSV family, Jason Henry of Washington State. As many of you have discovered, Jason makes some really great and exciting patterns and I just had to try one of them. So after a couple of days in my shop, I knocked this one out. I am going to attempt to make a frame for it. It is a little larger then I usually cut and there was a lot of detail in the pattern. In fact so much that I sort of got lost as to what a couple of parts were all about. I did modify it a little, as a result. It was a challenging piece to cut but I like the way it came out. I used a 3/0 spiral blade to cut in and I only broke one small piece at the beginning. I hope to cut more of his patterns before too long. I hope you all enjoy this pattern as much as I enjoyed cutting it Dick heppnerguy
  14. Nice word art for so many people. You must be getting to be a rich person with so many of them to cut. I was kind of down you way a week ago as we were in Miami for a cruise. Got stuck at the airport due to a storm that centered itself right on the runway. Missed our connection as a result. Dick heppnerguy
  15. This will obviously bring about some conversations in a divided sports persons house. I bet they will be asking you to make one for the wife as well. Be prepared to start a Sea Hawks foot stool as well. Hey and maybe you know someone that would like a Lions stool as well. A really cool idea. Well executed. Dick heppnerguy
  16. Really interesting to hear about a different wood out there that almost no one seems to be aware of. I made a comb for my granddaughter a number of years ago and used a hard wood. It is a comb that women sometimes use to hold their hair in place when they twist it into a kind of knot and the decorative comb holds it and is also displayed as a decorative part of their hair style. Well her hair is heavy and it did break the first time she used it. I thought it was a great design but my wood choice just was not strong enough for the job. I never made another, as a result. I just am not very versed on the many kinds of wood and it's strength. Dick heppnerguy
  17. Everyone loves the beautiful execution of a rather exciting pattern you just displayed for us all to enjoy. I would vote for the usual black background, as it has not only the best contrast but definitely makes every hole stand out to the max. It is truly a great piece. A frame is definitely going to make this piece a ribbon winner. Good Luck Dick heppnerguy
  18. A fun Halloween project. These patterns are have a fun and useful idea, and quick and easy to cut. Perfect for the beginner as well as the long time scroller, as they are also very useful for gifts to friends and family as a good seller at the crafts shows. Dick heppnerguy
  19. I believe you are correct on the pattern maker. What a cute piece this is. I like the wood colors on this one Dick heppnerguy
  20. Those will be some cherished trophies for sure. They are not only unique and well done but so original and attractive/ Dick heppnerguy
  21. Your tissue boxes are amazing. I have wondered,. myself, how you did your corners. I will have to try and see if I can make one of these. Probably not, but I think I will give it a try anyway. They are so beautiful Dick heppnerguy
  22. When I saw the saw, I knew that would have a big impact on most everyone. It is really cool. The giraffe cutting is a fun pattern indeed and you did it justice for sure. The bearing toy will keep in busy for a long time. I bet he will be sharing the fun with his friends too. I do not believe that I have ever seen that one before Dick heppnerguy
  23. Boy, are those delightful. Extremely nice work on all of them. Dick heppnerguy
  24. no, Len, it is not my pattern. I got it from another site but I will go back and try to find it. I did look and did not see it again. I like to give the pattern maker his or her recognition. when I do find it, I will add it to this post Dick heppnerguy
  25. Honoring MCCAIN for his service to the State of Arizona and our nation. On the day of his funeral, I decide to cut a plaque of him. I think I could have picked a lighter board for this one, but I thought it would look nicer this way, but now... if I was to do it over, I would cut it on a lighter colored piece. John McCane 1936 to 2018. Thank you for your outstanding military service and your dedication to the citizens of America Dick heppnerguy
