  1. you are always one busy guy, Kevin. Enjoy seeing what you cut each day. You sure know how to make most of us seem lazy in our shops Dick heppnerguy
  2. I need to find a you tube video on making them, I guess. I really like your bowl a lot. I know I could make one, if I understood the process of doing so Dick heppnerguy
  3. I will add this... I have purchased 2 new DeWalts and I loved them a lot. I was extremely relaxed and comfortable with the operation and the set up of my DeWalt. When I got the EX from Scrappile and started using it, I immediately discovered how much better that saw was then the DeWalt. Shortly after I got the EX, I moved to Arizona and I knew I wanted to get my hands on another EX but they were no longer being made. I searched Craigslist and only found a couple of EX's listed and they both were quite old. Then one day, I happen to take a look at Craigslist in Phoenix and found one listed that a man bought for his grandson a couple of years earlier so the grandson would have something to do when he was there for a visit. The grandson played on it for a couple of hours and quickly became bored with the whole I idea. So the guy listed it and I saw it minutes after the listing and told him I wanted it. I was at their house within the hour and sure enough, the saw was in brand new shape. I got it for $200 and quickly became like a little boy at Christmas getting his first bicycle. I have not pulled my DeWalt out of it's storage place since I moved. Those saws are great and I can not imagine anyone not loving their EX if they are lucky enough to have one. Dick heppnerguy
  4. Very cool, Dan. A very impressive sign, indeed Dick heppnerguy
  5. You are very correct when you stated that this 3D piece came out quite well. You are going to be surprising us all with your new found skills and talents. Keep at it.... but then we all know it is near impossible to stay out of the shop very long, don't we? Dick heppnerguy
  6. How was I ever able to guess what wood you were using? Just being silly.... another well done piece for us all to enjoy. Keep them coming. I see you are cutting a lot of patterns that I have on my 'to do' list Dick heppnerguy
  7. you aren't waiting around trying to figure out what to use that flooring and cedar wood. You are certainly making some really enjoyable projects with it. A pleasure to view, indeed Dick heppnerguy
  8. What a well done project. The colors, detail in cutting and finished like a real pro. I can think of nothing that was not done to perfection when I view it. Dick heppnerguy
  9. I love cutting pieces that make me pay attention to what is going on. I was a little afraid the eyes might break out, but I got lucky this time. Sam Custodio is one heck of a good pattern maker and almost always has a little challenge incorporated in each pattern Dick heppnerguy
  10. Very impressive. Your bowl is very well done and exceptionally appealing to the eye. I have never made a bowl before and I do not even know how to go about making one. Dick heppnerguy
  11. Keep the sawdust flying, Kevin. One never knows what it going to be added next with your posts. You make most of us appear that we do not get much time in our shops when we see all the things you are making on a regular basis Dick heppnerguy
  12. What an interesting design. I love these kind of hidden parts in a picture. Nice work on your part Dick heppnerguy
  13. This is so well done that it will stand out easily, where ever it is hung Dick heppnerguy
  14. I started this Sam Custodio pattern last week but we had our younger daughter come for a week long visit and we all went to San Diego where we spent the weekend visiting at the Naval Base and spending time with one of our Grandsons. We took in some other sites and Thursday morning we took our daughter to the airport. That same night we picked up our other daughter and her daughter and they are here from Oregon for 10 days. Yesterday we all went to Tombstone and had a fun time and today the girls went and got a manicure so I was able to get back into my shop and finish cutting this tiger pattern. I still need to finish it and make a frame for it. We are leaving Monday for the Grand Canyon and then to Vegas for a couple of days and then to Lake Havasu and the next day it is a trip back home. After a couple of more days our daughter and granddaughter will be flying back to Portland and so you can see why I have not had much shop time lately. I have been wanting to cut this pattern for some time and I have a few lined up to do when things settle down a little Dick heppnerguy
  15. Great one.. I love wooden portraits and keep telling myself I will learn to do these, some day. I have made a few but still struggle with them Dick heppnerguy
  16. These patterns are really easy to learn and execute. I suggest that you take a few minutes to go through making a couple of these and you will see that it only takes minutes to do one, once you understand the process. Go ahead and give it a try and you will see that I am right about it. You can do it. Hey nice job cutting and finishing this one, by the way. Thanks for showing us more of your skills Dick heppnerguy
  17. I love this little guy. You did a fabulous job with it. The colors really are done superbly, as well as the pattern and cutting Dick heppnerguy
  18. a nice rendition of the bigger one. It looks quite nice. Thanks for sharing Dick heppnerguy
  19. beautiful box. the card inserts are done very well also. You definitely spent time to make this one extra special. Your care in cutting and finishing your project is very apparent here Dick heppnerguy

    Pug

Wayne that is a really cute pug.. Where is did you find this pattern Dick heppnerguy
  21. We have lost several friends these past months but fortunately not a family member for awhile. I too am saddened when I see where someone has lost a family member. The most difficult has to be a spouse but none are easy. I love that you are making these plaques as they become so meaningful for those who receive them. I make many plaques for people and years later a person will thank me for the plaque and tell me how meaningful it is for them. Often I don't ever remember making it for them, but I always tell them how grateful I am that is it helping them a little. Dick hepperguy
  22. I saw the clock on Steve Good's page and I quite simply was not very impressed with this pattern. But now I see that one just needs to give it a go and use a little imagination and a lot of what does not appeal to someone on his page, just might change ones' mind after it is indeed made. This is the case for me here. You make this clock turn into a piece that Steve was envisioned when her made and posted this pattern. I looks great now Dick heppnerguy
  23. Have you checked Sue Mey's page. She has quite a number of plaques honoring almost every profession you can think of Dick heppnerguy
  24. The eye focuses on the backer board first for some reason. I have experienced this illusion thing several times on photos of scrolled work. Strange how all of a sudden it just pops out and your eyes revert to the outer part of the cutting. I think the wood you used made it pretty special. Thanks for sharing your nice work with us all Dick heppnerguy
