  1. Welcome to The Village, You should be very comfortable here as we are all very friendly and love to help one another as well as share our work for others to see. You have cut a lot of the same patterns that I too have cut and quite a few, I have not. Glad you are with us. Enjoyed viewing your work Dick heppnerguy
  2. Glad to hear you are back cutting on your scroll saw. I can not imagine being away from the saw for that long but now you have became a member here, I hope you stay enthused. Hope to see you here in the forums often. Dick heppnerguy
  3. Hello David. I too lived in Oregon for over 75 years and not I reside in Southern Arizona. I still have a cousin that has lived in Florence for some time. Next time I go to visit her, I will have to look you up. You have a really good saw and that helps tremendously. I can see by your comments that you will be making a lot of fun things. Be sure and check out our pattern library and should you find some patterns you would like to cut, just know they are free for the downloading and then post your finished project for all of us to see and admire. Be sure when you do that, you give credit to the designer of the pattern. Dick heppnerguy
  4. Hello Clay, Welcome to The Village. Hope to see you often here. Be sure and check everything out that we have to offer here.. This place is filled with great and talented people who all love to help one another. if you have any questions about scrolling, just ask away Dick heppnerguy
  5. Welcome to the Village. I am happy that you take the time to really enjoy your scroll saw and continue to work with your craft friends at home. You are very lucky to have them as most people are continually looking for others in their area to get together with other scrollers. I hope you log on often and get to know everyone here. Dick heppnerguy
  6. I would pick the King, personally, because it is such a nice machine to use and it is filled with good features, But saws are like automobiles, so what I really love, others will like a different brand as well. If I was a Dodge guy, I would not recommend you buy a Chevy or a Ford, you get the picture, but neither of the saws you mentioned are a poor choice. Good luck with whatever saw you choose. I hope you get one soon and then ask any questions you may have as there is a lot of experience here and the people are so willing to share their knowledge with one another. Dick heppnerguy
  7. Mike so glad you decided to become a member here. Check everything out and log on often, these to things you will find extremely helpful for you here, because it will be these two things that will turn you into our 'family'. Dick heppnerguy
  8. Welcome to The Village family. We are so glad you found us and we all hope you continue to log on so everyone can get to know you better and you us. Be sure and check out all the nooks and crannies here and please ask any scroll saw questions you may have. Proper blades and wood are two very important things you will want to know about as you scroll different things. Keep in touch and respond to other's comments too. You will find if you do this you will quickly understand why this site is referred to by many as 'family' Dick heppnerguy
  9. Welcome to The Village. Glad that you found us. I hope you are able to find some customers here for your designs. I want you to know that the best thing about this website, ( in my opinion, is that this is one big happy and helpful family), If that is what you are looking for, you have certainly come to the right place. A lot of talent lurks within our family and we all encourage new members because we all have something for each other. I hope you log on often and get to know the regulars here. Dick heppnerguy
  10. Here is a unique piece. I have never even heard of anyone cutting a layered wood portrait before. I like it Dick heppnerguy
  11. He turned out to be a very fun piece to hang on a Christmas tree or wall. Nice job Dick heppnerguy
  12. What a fun story. I was able to spend some time with my granddaughter at her home where they have 7 border collie dogs. 4 of them are puppies, they are so cute and lovable. I am not much of a dog person, but they were really intelligent and well mannered, even at a young age. Thanks for taking time to write me this story. It is a real heart warmer. Dick heppnerguy
  13. Good come back. I love it Dick heppnerguy
  14. Great job on our old friend Festus. But it is even more amazing when one considers the small size of this piece. Remarkable indeed Dick heppnerguy
  15. It takes a winner to step up and make a congratutory plaque for the apposing side. That has to hurt some. You are the greatest. My vote is for you today as the most deserving person for the 'above and beyond' award, if we had one Dick heppnerguy
  16. Well thank you.. I am looking forward to being with family and I actually have the honor of giving my granddaughter away. How lucky is that. I recently decided to try a little glass etching with my Dremel and ended up making champagne glasses for the bride and groom as well as all the support people like best man and brides maid, along with their support people as well as one for the moms and one for the grandmother. It was like starting all over again with scrolling but with a new twist. I do have to say that I made some rather nice improvements on my etchings as I went along. I hope people will enjoy having that keep sake from the wedding to take home as a reminder of that day. Dick heppnerguy
  17. To the puzzle master...…. another purrfect puzzle for the young and old to admire and build, over and over again Dick heppnerguy
  18. extremely nice piece. I love the detail in it. Alex Fox makes patterns that are definitely challenging and you stepped up to the saw and cut it like it was alive. My hat is off to both you and Alex for all the effort both of you put into this pattern. It is truly a work of art Dick heppnerguy
  19. agree with your comment. More spouses need to pay attention to their mates and when they see a problem, then it is time to try and figure out a solution. Dick heppnerguy
  20. Off to Oregon in a couple of days and so I will be putting away my shorts and tank tops and bringing out the levies and sweatshirts. By the end of November, we could possibly be seeing snow, who knows? I will miss all the wonderful and fun people here in the Village but I hope to come back from the wedding of my granddaughter and from Thanksgiving and enjoy the nice warm Arizona weather and seeing all my friends here again. Dick heppnerguy
  21. Not me.. I do not do craft shows. I do not expect to do much from here. maybe a piece now and then.. It is in a small town but I just want to support her efforts. Dick Heppnerguy
  22. https://www.facebook.com/samuel.custodio.52/media_set?set=a.1917481571857302&type=3 Here is a link to his state patterns.. you probably can find the rest of his patterns from here Dick heppnerguy
  23. No... these patterns are free downloads from Sam Custodio. He is an Oregon guy who lives in Grant Pass, Oregon and has a lot of really nice patterns. One of my favorite pattern makers Dick heppnerguy
  24. This lady has been a customer of mine for about 5 years and she is a friend of my granddaughters. I respect and trust her completely. Thanks for the heads up. I know what you are talking about. she recently moved and we talked about this venture a couple of times and I decided to give her a helping hand too. If I was to loose everything I sent to her, it is not a big deal to me. I do not have that much wrapped up in these projects. In fact if her business does not go well, then I will just give her the items as gift. No big deal. Dick heppnerguy
  25. I am starting to put some of my things in a shop in Colorado. A gal called me and said she really likes the items she has seen on my page and wondered if I would like to put any of my work in her shop. So I agreed to do so and made a few of the ones she liked for starters. I will see how it goes from here. I also will be putting a few other items in the box to mail to her. Just letting you know I have not been laying around the house and staying out of my shop this past week. I have a few other items to add to the package and I will get them mailed off this week Dick heppnerguy
