  1. When I saw this pattern posted, I reacted to it with, "I guess I will have to get on this one fast" and Sam replied that he would be waiting to see it cut. So I got it cut and finished last night. My wife really liked it and so did I Dick heppnerguy
  2. They will love having a bank that is so personal with their initials. I bet they have them for a long time Dick heppnerguy
  3. I have never seen this verse before. It sure has a lot of tearful memories brought to mind. Very nice saying and especially great with your beautiful workmanship adding to it's thoughtfulness Dick heppnerguy
  4. I believe that is a Steve Good pattern, if I am not mistaken. I know I have seen it, or something similar, somewhere. You did a nice job with these. They will make nice decorations and bring smiles every year when they are pulled out of the Christmas decoration boxes. Dick heppnerguy
  5. I too am not into Pokémon but I do understand who he is when I see a picture of him.. I, like Paul, enjoy all your work.. Keep posting them for us to enjoy too Dick heppnerguy
  6. Oh, here is my frame attempt that I was telling you about Dick heppnerguy
  7. I have the same feeling about frames. They are so difficult for me also. I did have a frame that my wife ask me to make for her because the photo of my granddaughter's wedding party was of such a strange size that we could not find a frame to fit. But for me, I was a little pleased with how it came out as I usually only get frustrated making them like you did. I guess it is all about practice. I am thinking that I may try some others soon. Good luck to you on yours. I thinks they looked pretty good to me and I also like your coffer sign. Really cute. Keep up the good work Dick heppnerguy
  8. I cut the same pattern a couple of years ago, but I used BB Ply. Yours looks way nicer then mine as the wood choice certainly made it stand out better. I also like your finish work. Very nice piece. CONGRATULATIONS on a perfect gift Dick heppnerguy
  9. Looks really good. I like your constant creativities. I am not sure how you are able to have so much original items. Seems like you are always posting something that YOU created. Not me.... my creativity never seemed to be much of a part of my life.. Really looks nice on your porch. Makes your house look so inviting Dick heppnerguy
  10. Nice couple of pieces. This should be a honored decoration for years to come, for whom ever is lucky enough to receive them Dick heppnerguy
  11. Marg, you have been one busy girl during this Christmas season. Enjoyed looking at your ornaments, they are very nice. Love that you exchange ornaments like you do Dick heppnerguy
  12. A really nice plaque. Lots of beautiful fret work going on there. It sounds like others have found this pattern, I have never seen it before. Is it still available somewhere? Dick heppnerguy
  13. I love your airplane patterns you make and cut. They are all outstanding Dick heppnerguy
  14. I agree. I make a lot of these also, I have yet to find someone that does not like them a lot. I often ad a silhouette of an animal they love or a flower or something that is special to the person I am making it for. You are doing so well Dick heppnerguy
  15. fun ideas for gifts. Nothing beats a hand made gift especially for you. These all will be treasured, you can bet on that Dick heppnerguy
  16. another great and interesting pattern. Will think about this one. but I am leaning heavily on buying it pretty soon Dick heppnerguy
  17. A fun video and some nice plaques resulting from the song. I love how Texan's love where they live so much Dick heppnerguy
  18. Thank you all for the nice comments. It is an easy cut, as you all already know, I did not use a backer board on the first one and I am well pleased by adding it , especially like the dual color for the background. It strengthened the piece and to me, added a lot of interest to it also Dick heppnerguy
  19. Mine does not say that either and it works fine the way I use it Dick heppnerguy
  20. it is Elmer washable school glue stick, I buy mine is the large 1.4 oz size and it lasts a long time. Just be sure and put the lid on when you are finished using it. Very inexpensive way to go and it works well. I have never had a problem with a pattern coming off even on intricate fret IF I put the glue on both my painters tape and the back of the pattern as well Dick heppnerguy
  21. Thank you for your information. I knew that I too could have done the same but choose to make the text I did because I was looking for some additional information, which I received from him. Thank you for you help, I do appreciate it Dick heppnerguy
  22. Oh we are not too far from there... we are in Casa Grande, which is on hwy 10 about mid way between Phoenix and Tuscan. You probably know where it is already. Do you still have any family in Ajo? If you do, I would love for you to drop by our house and meet you. Dick heppnerguy
  23. Thank you for your information. I have found the same shipping related problems with some states, like California too. There is a sight where a guy in Oregon has made some nice state plaque, of which I have sold a few. They are really nice also. The reason I bring this to your mind is because it might be a good place to go just to check out the state shapes. His name is Sam Custodio and all of his great patterns are free to download. I will attempt to post a link to his state map designs for you here. https://www.facebook.com/samuel.custodio.52/media_set?set=a.1917481571857302&type=3 I hope this works for you.. it may be worth a look Dick heppnerguy
  24. I set my down feed on my drill press so that the bit only is make a small dent in the plank under my project. Using the smallest bit you have, will also help with the tear out. When you are boring fairly deep into your plank below the wood you are making the pattern from, then the tear out starts. keeping the bit from penetrating into the plank really seems to help me Dick heppnerguy
  25. Rocky. I use different methods at different times. I sometime use painters tape with glue sticks. I rub the painters tape with the glue stick and also the back of the pattern with the glue stick, The pattern has never raised from the piece when I do I that way. No residue on the wood that way. I have also used spray glue only on the back of the pattern but I use paint thinner on the pattern face and wait about two minutes and the remaining pattern literally falls off the wood. If is does stick a little I will use a paper towel dipped in the paint thinner and wipe away the remaining residue. If I am in a hurry and do not wish to wait for the paint thinner to dry so I can start to put on a coat of finish, then I use the tape and stick glue. I buy the big glue sticks with the blue glue in them Dick heppnerguy
