  1. you would nail this one, no doubt.. Mainly it is a whole lot of little short lines.. Dick heppnerguy
  2. The best thing to reduce the vibration on that machine is to have it bolted down solid to the work bench. I had one of these saws and I found it to have a lot of vibration until I bolted it to my work bench and then it instantly had no vibration at all. I hope this helps. Welcome to The Village.. Be sure and check out the pattern library and start with the easier patterns and you will quickly be doing about anything you wish to take on. Glad you decided to join our world wide family here Dick heppnerguy
  3. It is was not for the hat, I am not sure that most would not know who this was. I will have to try this one again at a different time as I just could not get it to fall together well. But I am not going to give up on trying to learn this wood portrait making. Mahendra told me to just keep at it and some day it WILL all fall together.. I sure hope so Dick heppnerguy
  4. Thanks I think I have it now Dick heppnerguy
  5. I am not sure that many will guess who this is a pattern of but it is my latest efforts. This was from a photo that was taken several years ago and this Hollywood actor has not made very many pictures lately, at least that I have seen. Any guesses... Dick heppnerguy
  6. I did not used to credit the pattern maker of I piece I put on my Facebook page for sale. But several years ago I read a thread on here that was similar to this one. They come up on a regular basis, and since then, I have always tried to state who the pattern maker is, if I know. I do not steal others work but I can not always remember from whom I downloaded the pattern from. I would hate to loose the pattern makers talents because all of their work was taken for free when it is meant for purchase' Dick heppnerguy
  7. Thank you, Mehendra. I hope some day to be able to master this art nearly as well as you have. Lot's to learn Dick heppnerguy
  8. I can't believe I keep on trying to get this thing figured out, but I will get it some day if I do not give up. I think I am able to make my portraits resemble the person enough to tell who it is but some of the details are hard for me to pick up on.. This one is of my newest great grandson. His aunt took the photo of him last week and posted it on Facebook a couple of days ago. the Quality of the photo was good enough that I just had to give it a try. I text a photo of the pattern to his mother, and ask her for her honest opinion. She said, 'It looks just like him', so I told her I would go ahead and cut it for her. An hour later is was all cut and today I made the backer board for one, (I double cut it) and put the other one in a frame. She will be in Arizona the last of June to celebrate her birthday at her mother and father's house. We will miss the event because we are going to be in Oregon. This is her first child. Her husband is in Army Special Forces and will be deployed the middle of June, so he also will not be there for her birthday Dick heppnerguy
  9. Thanks again for all the nice words from everyone.. It was deffinately a challenge but I will do it again before too long. Really need to get this one right. Dick heppnerguy
  10. Now I get the info.. after it is all over... no, seriously... good tips... I hope to remember that in the future.. Your piece above is beautiful. I think I saw that pattern somewhere. I sure would like to give it a go too Dick heppnerguy
  11. Welcome to The Village from Southern Arizona where it is almost always sunny and warm. I had a surprise when I was riding on the train from Germany and France. We had a stop at a train station and I was we were in Belgium. I was unaware that we would be traveling into your country until that moment. I wish we could have had some time to visit there but, no luck. I am glad you have joined us here and hope to see you logged on often Dick heppnerguy
  12. Welcome to the Village family. I hope you log on often, then shortly you will understand why I say 'family'. It sounds like you have a good grasp on woodworking and will probably have some good input on some of the questions others may have about some aspect of wood working that you are knowledgeable about. Don't hesitate to chime in on those questions. Hope you take time to look through all the things this site has to offer. Welcome again from Southern Arizona. Dick heppnerguy
  13. my lips are sealed Dick heppnerguy
  14. We can not help you answer any questions, until you ask....the way things work here Dick heppnerguy
  15. I have never been to a wood working show. Scrappile told me about a wood working show he went to in Tri-Cities Washington and he did not think it was all that good. There maybe something like that in Phoenix but so far, I have not heard of any. Dick heppnerguy
  16. I tried my Pagas saw blades on my Eiffel Tower and the first time I used them, I did not like them because they were too aggressive for my liking, However do to my lack of blade supply, I resorted back to them and I think they are going to be my "go to blades" now.. I am not sure if anyone really figures out the scroll saw blade. Dick heppnerguy
  17. Katie, Have you tried PolyDraw? I downloaded it buy so far I have not been able to figure it out. I was just wondering if you have Dick heppnerguy
  18. You are one busy guy. Hammering out the pieces like you were trying to cut every pattern ever made. All of them look really well done too. Congratulations on your fine work Dick heppnerguy
  19. Thank you, I am not sure what my next pattern will be but I don't think I will get much time in my shop for a couple of months as we are going to leave at the end of the month to go back to Oregon to visit family and friends and get away from the 120 degree days, here in Southern Arizona. Dick heppnerguy
  20. Thank you for the nice compliment, it is fun to try new challenges in scrolling but sometime it turns out to also be a little bit disappointing when things do not go as one hopes. I really like the Eiffel Tower and I have been to Paris and stood beneath it. One thing that surprised me was, I thought it would be a lot bigger at it's base. We did not go up into the Tower as we only had four days to be in Paris and there was so much I wanted to see. My question to you is.... how long does it take to walk from the second level to the ground when it is not raining. Dick heppnerguy
  21. This one is cut with 1/4 inch.. Actually I think it would be really cool in a natural wood instead of BB Birch but I am too cheap to buy some. Did you see the one the guy made for the schools prom? 20 feet high. Amazing and one was made from chocolate. I would never send a photo of this one to Pedro. I think my poor workmanship might upset his skills and time he spent to make the pattern. Most people will just look at it in the corner and think it is amazing, instead of scrutinize it. Dick heppnerguy
  22. Done extremely well. Great design and wonderful finished project Dick heppnerguy
  23. That is one of Alex Foxes pattern, if I remember correctly Nice job on a really interesting pattern. Should bring a lot of comments Dick heppnerguy
  24. Once you get the feel of designing this type of sign, it only takes about 8 minutes to knock out the pattern. Keep working on them, even if you do not cut one for awhile. YOU DID ! How much better can it get? Dick heppnerguy
  25. perfect pattern, perfect cutting and perfect timing Dick heppnerguy
