  1. Nice ice fishing set up. I went ice fishing one time, years ago. After we drilled our holes in the ice, it occured that it might be a little difficult to bring them out through the hole because whenever I have hooked a trout they take off on a run. We had just placed our bated hooks down it the water for the first time. Just as I was asking my question, the guy that took me got a bite and immediately lifted the trout through the hole. "like this", he said, as he showed me his fish. I laughed. Have fun...can I go with you ? Dick heppnerguy

  8. I was so impressed with the inlay boxes that were so beautifully done that I knew I just had to try and see if I could do it too. do a little while ago I drew a simple heart and set out into my shop and told my wife that I would be back in 10 or 15 minutes. I was not sure how I should set my saw but just took it off 90 degrees by a couple of degrees and started cutting. I was not worried about coing out of the shop with a perfect piece nor did I have any desire to come up with anything but a practice shot at it, just to see if I could do it. I did not make any effort to finish it or fill in the drill bit hole. and I was happy with the outcome because it told me that I could do it pretty well with some real effort. After I came back into the house I went and watched a video tutorial on how to set the angle so I am sure this will become some of my new efforts. I know the lighting is not the best on this but it isn't really to impress anyone but rather to encourage those who might like to try it for the first time. Dick heppnerguy Oh, by the way, go for it Marg, I know you can do it . you are way more talented than am I
  9. it is very good to have it out of the way. It did bring in some nice pocket change but not sure I want to go through that again. I am considering NOT taking special orders again, just like Sully said that he did not do. I could have made many items in the time it took me to mess around with these. Dick heppnerguy
  10. Roly, you are full of it.......ideas that is.. I like them as they are a fun idea and can be made is minutes. Dick heppnerguy

  14. I will indeed thank him for his service. This young man is going to be a carrier Army Officer. He is now a 1st Lt. and has gone through Air borne school, Rangers and served in Afghanistan. His next assignment will be special forces school. He is always in the top 3% of his classes. I expect that he will be a General before he retires.
  15. I was a little concerned when i started around the face of the giraffe that is might break before i was able to finsih it, but I lucked out..It was a little challenging for me, but then most pieces are, I guess. Dick
  16. this is a small Army plaque that I made for my granddaughter's boyfriend. Dick heppnerguy
  17. You might remember about a month ago, I got a request to do a wood piece that represented the person's brand that they used on their cattle ranch. After I finished it, she said she did not like them, ( there were actually two different brands that she ordered. She ended up paying me for them and then to my dismay, she ordered an additional one and we discussed the changes she wanted. Today she came by the house to see the new one and gave me a big hug and said that it was exactly what she had been looking for in the first place. Was I ever relieved. Here is the new 'brand' in wood. Dick heppneguy
  18. My grand daughter requested a giraffe cutting for Christmas. i found this nice, and challenging piece here in the pattern library and i wrote down the pattern makers name but I can not find it now. Sorry about that. but thank you for your perfect pattern, Dick heppnerguy

  20. I wanted to be sure that Don and Russel saw the cuttings they so genersously helped me to obtain, as per my pattern request. This pattern made from a photo that was taken in June in Germany when my grand daughter visited my previous exchange student. I sent the one to Germany this morning.
  21. one heck of an interesting project. I will be checking back to watch your progress and i am sure i will be spell bound the entire time of it's development. Dick heppenrguy
  22. DW, your timing is perfect for me. I made my son a business card holder last year from a pattern I found of Steve Goods, but the letters of his company name that was cut on the top back part of it has broken and he had it taped in place. I was looking for something a little different and you hit the nail on the head for me. I am going to take your basic idea and develop one to replace my son's card holder. Obviously I like it very much Dick heppnerguy
  23. I like both of them a lot but, I have not found any of your work that I did not admire and enjoy looking at. Dick heppnerguy
