  3. I love this effort that Travis came up with. I also made an effort to contribute to the designs and I made a donation to Make a Wish foundation. It was a pleasure to do both. It will only get better every year. Great Job, Travis. Dick heppnerguy

I am not a very organized guy and i need all the help i can get. I picked up some with these photos. you guys are great. and Sparkey, put on an insulated garage door and install a little wood stove and go out and scroll in the warmth this winter. Dick heppnerguy

I also like that you were able to steer another person to our sight here. winter is upon us so you should have plenty of time to make ready for your next craft show. Thanks for sharing your wonderful story with us. always good to hear what others have been doing. Dick heppnerguy
  7. Interesting twist.. I bet others will start adopting this idea as the craft shows start up again in the summer Dick heppnerguy
  8. A big welcome from me too. I hope you log on often and before you know it you will know that you too are an important part of our huge, international family of scrollers. Explore around and you will find many interesting things here. thank you for sharing your original bird feeder ideas. They are marvelous. I have never seen anything like them. If you have any difficulty getting around here or don't understand how something works don't feel strange asking, that is what we are here for, and beside many of us have asked every imaginable question there is. Keep in touch Dick heppnerguy
  9. Gabry, I find you to be a very amazing person. I don't believe that i personally know anyone that cuts scroll patterns by hand. I would love to see some of your patterns. Here there are a lot of people who make and share patterns for free with anyone who might be interested in cutting them. I hope you are willing to share a pattern or two, we are all interested in seeing and cutting original things. And by the way, your English is very good and probably easier to understand than mine. I would also like to see a photo of your saw and maybe one with you using it too. Log in often and explore all that is offered here in The Village. Become active here and you will find that the people are friendly and helpful and also quite nice. If you are here often and start commenting on posts that other people make and also make posts of your own, you will realize that you have become a member of a large family that enjoys eacn other and scrolling, just as you do. Dick heppnerguy
  10. glad you found us and I am happy that you started doing this when you retired because that is exactly what I did and i enjoy it more than anything else I have ever done. I also have a de Walt and i love my saw very much. If you have any questions about anything to do with scrolling, just post it and you will see how willing everyone here is to help. There is a lot of talent here and everyone is understanding and helpful. Take a look through all the free patterns and grab as many as you like and start making sawdust. there is also another great scroll saw pattern sight where you can get many more free patterns, It is called scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com Be sure and explore around here and look at all the nooks and crannies because, believe me, you will not regret it. the secret here is to log on often and start reading the posts that otheres have made and make comments on what you read, like others do and before you know it, you will start to know the people on here and they will get to know you and you will discover that you too are a part of this world wide scroller family Dick heppnerguy
  11. very nice projects, Your work is performed in and outstanding manner.. They would make great gifts for anyone.. Dick heppnerguy
  12. Clayton, gifts as special as this one is, only comes to be because one treats his wife in loving ways and does things for her that shows her that he loves her. You and I already know how special he treats her all the time, don't we ? Pretty special gift, I was only joshing Kevin. I love doing things for my wife just so she is assured that I love her. Dick heppnerguy
  13. Everyone has different areas to work in. You seem to be one of the luckier ones. At my other house I have a 20 X 30 foot, well equipted shop. When I moved i downsized to a 16 X 16 foot shop and felt sorry for myself. I have seem many different shops here in The Village and since then I have stopped my whining. Your shop is quite nice and spacious and you are one of the luckier ones here. Sometimes I look at all the tools, crammed into a small space and wonder, 'where do they do their sanding and assembly work.' You are set, it is no wonder that you enjoy turning out all those wonderful projects. If I ever get to Argentina, I am going to have to look you up. Stop sweating it, that will never happen. Dick heppnerguy
  14. I don't know what i would do if this sight ever goes down. It is the first place I go to in the morning and usually the last place onthe internet at night. My hat is off to CLAYTON AND TO TRAVIS for the wonderful job that is done on this sight. It would be amazing to know how many people have been helped here on The Village and how many friends have been made here. Most of the friendships here have never even been able to personally meet one another, but there still exsists that bond among us all. Thanks Travis for the honor of being a part of this well oiled machine. Thanks Clayton for all you do too. I am sure that I have no idea what all goes on to keep this running every day. What a wonderful team Clayton and Travis are... YEH YEH YEH Dick heppnerguy
  15. watch it Kevin... his wife may have just decided that a nice saw like that would make hubby happy and now you come along and plant the "you owe me something for this' idea, in her head.. I hope my wife doesn't happen to see your posts and decide I should do the dishes or the laundry or something like that for getting to go to my shop. I say us guys in The Village, take you out to the woodshed and teach you a lesson Dick heppnerguy
  16. most wood for me is quite expensive. I do get a pretty fair price on plywood but that is about it. I bought so underlayments at home depoe for $28 a sheet. It is good on one side and I usually can get my with it on a 2 sided piece as long as I do a good sanding job. That is a 4 X 8 foot sheet so I get a lot of things out of it. it makes good backer boards too. Not my preferrence but I use it when I have nothing else. Other wise I have not found anything that seems like a deal to me. the shipping raises the cost by at least 50%. Always looking though Dick heppnerguy
  17. the add says 'or offer' i would offer $200 and see if he will take that ... if you offer down, he will most likely at least compormise... don't wait too long because some one else might just nab it
  18. I would check to make sure that you can achieve good blade tention.. you might want to take one of your blades with you... It is truly a simple machine to work on.. there is nothing that I can think of that you can not repair fairly easily yourself Dick heppnerguy
  19. this looks great... that is one of the things that I like about scrolling is, if you break a piece here or there or if you miscut a little, it is often only noticed my the one that cuts it. Nice job. Dick heppnerguy
  20. great pattern. where did you get an idea like these? Dick heppnerguy
  21. I have to say that I think they are quite amusing and a fun idea. Dick heppenrguy
  22. I am so glad that it is helpful to so many. sure makes it a snap to do puzzles, that is for sure. My first thought when I discovered it was to share my find with all of you.. Dick heppnerguy
  23. Ron, No empty nooks or crannies in your shop. It looks like you have just about every wood working tool you should need. A little more space might be helpful but by the end results, (some really nice projects) you seem to manage quite well. Because of my lack of organization. I never seem to have enough room. Thanks for posting the photos of your shop, anyone should be very happy to have a place as nice as yoiurs to work in, that is for sure. Dick heppnerguy
  24. that one would have me scratching my head. I don't know if I could have done it. It is a very large piece. I think I would have said, Thank you, but no Thanks. You not only figured out how to do it , you did a great job, on top of that. I'm impressed to say the least Dick heppnerguy
  25. a very nice booth .. it would have stopped me for awhile, that is for sure. You have a really nice variety of goods to choose from and any of them would be nice to have. I also have made several of sue Mey's patterns. she is a top notch designer. I love doing her wedding plaque for gifts. Everyone that receives them always seem to enjoy them a lot. Isn't it rewarding that you can make something for little cost and end up giving one the best gifts that they receive. and you can bet it will be around a long time too Dick heppnerguy
