  1. I also wish to welcome you to our scroll sawing family. come here often and you will learn to love our members. Everyone is here to have fun and share their talents with each other. I, for one, am very glad you shared your story and photos. I found it to be quite interesting. Glad to have you on board
  2. I like them too. Is the pattern available ? Did you stack cut them. that would be how I would do it, it sure makes cutting a lot easier. Nice Job
  3. Not only is this a very interesting item, it is also a very ambitious one. I would like to find a copy of this pattern too. I am not much for puzzles but this one is far and above the average puzzle that I have ever seen before and I would enjoy making this one for myself. Great job.
  4. I am with you. I try to support the things that I am interested in and this is a sight I am very interested in. It does not need to be a financial burden on anyone to help here. but if a lot of people pitch in, it helps. What a great group of people here. I am going to try to go and figure out how to put some of my money on the table here. Thanks for the nudge. I was going to do that anyway...now I won't put it off any longer
  5. way to go.. if everyone just picks all the numbers that I did not pick when I play, they would have a little bit of a chance, as I usually have NO numbers on my tickets. Maybe your wife can sell 'lucky numbers'... would have to be better than the ones I pick. she could make money every week..... No really,,, That is too cool Dan. CONGRATULATIONS
  6. I too, enjoy the efforts of Mahendra. There are many great people in The Village that aren't afraid to step out and give a helping hand or to share their talents with us less talented people. I love to see what others are making and I too hope to some day be a better craftsman because of people like Mahendra and many others here. Nice to be a part of this family.
  7. Nice returns on your weekend, Sully. You must have to spend a lot of time making things just for the craft shows. I am not willing to dedicate my time to those at this time. I did a craft show once and it turned a fun thing into a work thing. I never want my scrolling/intarsia to not be a fun thing, so craft shows don't appeal to me at this time in my life. Glad people like you do those because I do like to go to them. Oh, and nice to have you in the Village too.
  8. I don't know if you like the looks of bamboo or not, but I cut some things with it that are really small and delicate and I have used some as thin as maybe 1/120 on an inch,,, not sure of the thickness but about that of a sheet of writing paper, and single layered at the time. (no stack cutting needed). Have you ever used it before ? Not sure if it stains well of not but it is the most dense wood I have ever cut
  9. I have my manual and I believe it has a schematic of all the parts and the part numbers, if I am not mistaken. will watch the postings in case I can help there
  10. I am with you, Kevin,,I too have not the foggiest idea where the place is they are talking about, but it does look like a great place to be. I wonder if it is humid like where you live.
  11. I like your shop. I especially like the wooden walls. I am seriously considering taking out sheet rock walls and replacing them so they are like your. then I can nail up anything I wish and not have to worry about patching the walls. My shop is plenty big enough but it is in bad need of organization. That I am not good at doing. I am thinking about posting pictures of my shop and see if someone has really good ideas for me. Have fun in your shop.
  12. are you saying that you spray the printed pattern on the face ( printed side ) and then press it onto the wood and after waiting about 1 minute when you lift off the pattern the printed pattern remains on the wood? does the pattern have to be printed on a laser printer. I have seen articles similar to this and they all said you can not use an ink jet printer to do this. what about that?
  13. that is pretty cute. I have not seen that before. It did bring a smile to my face. Thanks for sharing.
  14. Hi Arlene, I have a pinned saw that I used to use and I had the same dilemma you are facing. I chucked in a pin less blade tried it to see if it would hold it. The saw I am talking about is a Ryobi. It did work for me. The saw did not last very long before I had to buy replacement parts for it. The parts were cheap in more than one way, if you know what I mean, and I was ready to replace other parts before very long. Anyway, my point is.... you may want to try a pin less blade, even without an adaptor. It did work for me. I also have seen the adapters in different places too. Good luck on whatever you decide to do. Welcome to the Village and come back often
  15. Hi Martyn, I am not familiar with you, personally, but I want to welcome you to the Village. There are a lot of good and friendly people here to become acquainted with. I hope you become an active member so we can all get to know you better.
  16. Hi Hank, I read some of the welcome posts here and just had to go and check out your web sight. I have to agree that you have been a busy man and I love the variety in your work. You have a lot of very nice things. I hope you make the time to become active on the Village, because the people on here are extremely friendly and have many challenging and fun things to share. We like to post a lot of our patterns on here and share them with each other. If that appeals to you, you might like to do the same and see how others do with your ideas. It is a fun way to participate. Welcome to The Village. Hope to see you around a lot.

  24. poblanos ? OK I just might be the dumbest person in the Village, but what the heck are poblanos? I like your basket idea. Very nicely done. Let us know how this goes for you.
