  1. The hole is 1 1/2" but it could be any size you want...
  2. Know what you are saying,,,, It will be up to real birds to decide, they can make up their own minds. I have studied about bird houses... the hole size is not correct of the smaller birds, but I have never seen a bird with a tape measure checking... I could easily put dowel in and may,, but, if not the correct size hole, no bird will use it and no cleaning necessary, the bottom I plan on attaching with screws for cleaning,,, I am member of the Audubon Society... but this is probably never going to be hung in a tree.

  4. I have four projects in progress right now, and I work on which ever one fits my mood of the day. Just having fun and doing nothing serious... Here is the one I have been working on today. It is a modification of an @alexfox pattern... Layered bird house pattern for a wall hanging,,, I thought it would make a cute real bird house.... This is my progress so far... The front of the bird house is Alex's pattern them I just have been building the house and this will be the front... I'm having a great time with it... I have to paint it now them glue the front together and attach it to the little house..
  5. Nice work, Dick!
  6. Isn't you second calculation "liner foot" as oppose to "board foot"... Liner foot is just length x width and usually assumes 1" thick but in reality is usually 3/4" thick..
  7. WOW! I do like that.... maybe you skip scrolling and just do painting... That very nice.
  8. That is going to be an interesting project.... Have you dealt with Clayton Boyer before.... If not, do not be hesitant to email him questions you may have.. I have always found him very responsive, fun to converse with and he is always willing to help.. Yesterday I emailed him twice with questions on the project I want to take on and I had responses to both email in very short order... Asking about what blade to use on 3/4" BB, I would use a #3 Pagas MG.. Lots of people would go to a #5 and maybe they are correct,,, but #3 is the largest I have... It also depend on the saw you have and how aggressive it is.. I have a Hegner, not an aggressive cutter..
  9. Can you adjust/cut the original stand legs to lower them....?
  10. Well done, sir!
  11. Be fun to try, but would cost me around $110. for the plans and spring.... I do not have that much confidence in myself... Clayton Boyer has some nice ones, and there are many others on the internet... Now saying that, I am thinking about doing this one... Not really because of Kinetic Sculpture but I was always interested in the old "Hit and Miss" engines that I saw at fairs.... This reminded me of them.... I have sent a question to Clayton.... If he answers I may have to give it a try: https://www.lisaboyer.com/Claytonsite/steampunkimpulsepage1.htm 20 minutes later and I already got an answer from Clayton.... That is the service I have always receive with him.... I ordered the plans... to add to my collection of planes and patterns... I hope I live to be 150!!
  12. Very well done..
  13. Welcome... I don't know what saw that is,,, but if you are having trouble finding blades, I would figure it take "Pin" blades.... Pretty out dated in todays scroll saw world... But you can cut things with it..... We are glad to have you.... You will learn a lot here.
  14. I do not know of anyone that uses the inner thread.... Maybe if you made very thin fragile stuff.
  15. Nice stand, Marge. I am also a Kokopelli fan. Can't remember when I wasn't. Partly because I like to say the name... Makes me smile. Good thing I had my kids before I knew of him,,,,, my son may have been named Kokopelli!!
  16. A few years ago, I had an idea of making some little things from scapes that I could carry in my pockers and randomly hand out to little children.... I came up with this little bear.. I thought it was cute, but I was not brave enough to hand them out.. A lot of parents are, understandingly, cautious about strangers giving their children things... I did not want some parent hitting me over the head or calling the police on me.
  17. I went to a heavier bucket. Mine is on a 5 gallon Behr paint bucker.... Not all 5 gallon buckets are the same.... Some have thicker walls than others... I have also read about the bucket inside a bucket, but if one in inside how do you know if it is collapsing or not?
  18. I made this Winnie the Pooch music box for my Grandson when he was a year old. Wind it up it plays the Winnie song and Winnie goes around and around as it plays. Fun build:
  19. Hegner is manufactured in Germany but is available to buy in the U.S. through: https://advanced-machinery.myshopify.com/pages/frontpage Awesome saw and Advanced Machinery is a great company to do business with.

Changed Manufacturer to Hegner Machinery, Germany... Changed Price to 1649
  21. I have a Seyco, it is a very good saw. The Pegas is also a very good saw, and a little cheaper... Have you checked them out... I understand there is some shortage of them right now, but if you are not in a big hurry... Not discouraging the the Seyco... it is a work horse... and I love the big table... I added the pegas clamps to mine... it is a good option but not necessary one. If you get a Seyco, I would strongly suggest you look up the Steve Good video (youtube) on assembling it... Save you some frustration. It is not difficult but it is different from the Pegas, Excalibur or King saws....
  22. Giving the cats their privacy in style..... Very nicely done...
  23. very nice!
  24. WOW!! Ditto what Frank said!
