  1. All my Pegas "Skip" and "doubled skip" blades I have, have that Configuration at the top of the blades,,, without the notch lower down... I like it because it tells me easily which way is up and I don't have to grind a point at the top,,,, I do that on all my blades,,, helps when bottom feeding... I just got the "double skip" last month,,,, the "skip" ones I received a couple months ago..
  2. John Goodman
  3. Looks like bass wood to me. I like scrolling it especially if I can get slabs with bark on the sides..
  4. What is not to like. That is really well done.
  5. Pretty cool. I also find the 3D printers fascinating.
  6. I love compound cutting... It is fun to do the cuts and then remove the waste and see the treasure inside... Very nice work you have done..
  7. I'm sorta hoping there will be enough interest here that I could request Travis add it as a forum option.. not so far but maybe.. @rustynail, I have looked a many plans of Chevalets, and would love to build one,,,, just to build one... but I do not have the room... That is why I am really, I think, in the double bevel marquetry.... I have scroll saw... But "come'n man" there is so much neat marquetry stuff out here... Thanks for all the input so far... checking it all out...
  8. You just insulted @octoolguy,, Methuselah is not older than me!!
  9. Yes sweet!! Gator,,,, so glad you are back at it..
  10. I'm just curious... Any one here do marquetry? It has alway intrigued me... the difference between scrolling and true art... If I was young I would go all out and take classes or what ever to learn to do it,,, but I am not.... But I do want to try some of it... like the double bevel marquetry where you can still use the scroll saw... Like I said, just curious and maybe I should be satisfied with what I know.... but I love marquetry.... anyone else...?
  11. WOW! I would never been brave enough to try that as my first project!! Great job.. looks mighty fine!
  12. I am concerned about this... When doing fret work.. I never knew if was okay to have the vac turning off and on all the time.... Ever time I switched from one cut the next.... on and off went the vac.... 250 holes = 250 on/off cycles.... Maybe that is why mine did not last as long as I thought it should have. If I get another, whether Fein or Festool... When doing fret work,,,, I will not use the on/off feature... What do you think about it? I certainly do not know, just a hunch.
  13. Awesome work, Gator and really nice to have you back going at it again!
  14. I have Incra rulers, their miter gauge and they are good and accurate... no doubt... I also had the Incra table saw fence.... I did not ever get use to it... just too complicated for this old man... I an a measure, tap tap... I never got use to their fence... sold it and went back to my original fence that came with my saw... measure, tap, tap... I got these instruments when I build my street organ because I needed precision to build the pipes.
  15. WOW! you are right!! GREAT scrolling Gator!
  16. Up until two days ago, I had a Fein.. Pretty disappoint in it only lasting me 3 years 4 month had a 3 year warranty... I appears to have a burned up motor. I used it heavily on my scroll saw and it went on and off with the scroll saw.... Maybe that was the problem.... maybe when scrolling fretwork it should be left on and turned on and off manually.... I don't know.. It was a great vac while it lasted... My next one, I think, would be a Festool.. Not much difference in price because the Festool comes with a Hepa filter, time you buy one for the Fein, they are very close in price..
  17. Well, now, that is pretty "dog-gone" amazing.... Great piece!
  18. I guess i have to agree with Dan.... China has is not the place to buy right now..
  19. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Best-Plastic-Test-Tube-Rack-Holder-Storage-60Holes-17mm-3Layers-Lab-Supplies-FDA/143359666890?hash=item2160e6eaca:g:WXMAAOSwe51Z5rXV I use every other row.. so I can easily see what is in the tubes... Gives me 36 spaces to store tubes. Use all rows and you have 60 spaces. I rarely use a blade bigger than a #3. I have up to #5 and spiral also... have never used a spiral bigger than a #1
  20. Great job!
  21. I watched it on ZUDU free movies and TV series...
  22. Well, heck, Frank, we do agree on something!! I do not watch or care about professional sports for the same reason, plus I do not think I have a competitive bone in my body,, except for one sport.... The America's Cup Sail Boat racing.. I have watched it for years and still love to watch.... Following the Prada Cup in New Zealand now waiting for the finals.... Not sure why I love it so much,,, I have never sailed in my life... but it has always intrigued me. I have a little mini-cup hull in my garage I started over a dozen years ago, have all done but the mast and sails. Do not know why I can't get myself to finish it... and time is running out... And, if/when I do finish it I need someone to teach how to sail it.. My son could,, but he lives in Tennessee and I live in Washington.. Nice project you have done here.
  23. Very beautiful..... looks like a lot of work....!
  24. Okay, do you need my address to send the big prize to? The reason I guessed that, was I watched an episode of it just a while back,, and for some reason the boys very serious eyes stuck with me.... you got them just right...
