  1. Okay Dick, calm down,, you are becoming an "Artist" now and really leaving me in the dirt. That is an awesome piece.. Next summer, I want some lessons!!
  2. Great job, Kevin.
  3. I use spirals a lot and am very comfortable with them, but if I was trying them to learn how to use them, that certainly ts not a pattern I would want to learn on.... That l big cat picture you posted recently would be a better one for spirals, I would think.
  4. Nice to have you join us.

  11. Very nice work and the painted frame and flowers sets it up a notch. Well done team..... The falcon was not the type of falcon I was expecting.
  12. Gary, I just wanted to add, this site has tons of info. Check out the resources area (tap at the top of the page and also this there is the pattern library. There are tons of patterns from simple to very detailed. ALL FREE. Take a little time and do some exploring of the site. So much here.
  13. Hey, @heppnerguy, you want to do a sea turtle, do this intarsia one from Judy Gale Roberts.. You are good at intarsia. This is one I would like to do someday. https://intarsia.com/products/i-395-sea-turtle
  14. I use 3M 77 spray adhesive. That saw takes pinless blades doesn't it? That is the way to go...
  15. More nice cutting, Gator. I did that sea turtle one. Mine was smaller than yours, wish I had done it larger.
  16. Really neat. Awesome job and welcome to the village... I see you have been a member for several months,,, but kept it a secret. We are glad to have you.
  17. Nice to have you join us.
  18. Thanks for starting a new thread on this subject. This should be interesting, least I hope it is. I have always admired the wooden geared clocks. I have one started, actually all the parts cut out and started assembly around two years ago. Something was not right about my assembly and I decided to set it aside for a little while. Well it has been longer than a little while. Mine is the Ascent from this site: https://wooden-gear-clocks.com/ The plans are very well done and the seller is very nice to work with. Another great place for patterns is here: http://lisaboyer.com/Claytonsite/Claytonsite1.htm The plans from here are awesome also. I have done the three robots from his "Robot Laboratory" and have the plans for doing the Puffer Steam Engine. The robots were very fun to build, they all worked and fun to play with. The first picture below is what my clock is suppose to look like, if and when..... The second picture is my clock partially assemblied. I made a couple cosmetic changes to mine... should not affect the way it work....if it ever works. I even have the numbers cut and ready to glue on the dial ,,,,,
  19. They look great. Can't believe, kids back in school, summer gone, time to start worrying Halloween... and the following holidays...
  20. That looks mighty fine, Les. I'm anxious to see the wife one.
  21. Thanks @heppnerguy, and the same back at you.
  22. Very beautiful, Dick!
  23. Sorry, I should have been more clear. New to Scrollin cut the same pattern and posted a picture of it. The pattern was made and sold by Charles Dearing.
  24. You have been having a bad time, so sorry to read. You are in my thoughts.
  25. @don watson, sorry Don, I meant a new thread on this site. That way people could find it easier. This thread is title "Baltic birch plywood cost ?". A new thread with the appropriate title like "Wooden Gear Clock Build" or something would make it easier for people to find.
