  1. I think it was 2 Summers ago I took my wife on a day trip to get out of the hot desert. This is where we went, Mount Rainier in Washington. Such a beautiful sight! I see by the date on the picture it was 3 Summers ago. Time flies!
  2. I miss seeing this, that is a great piece. Well done, congrats to both of you.
  3. Some very fine scrolling, Jeff. Looks so good.
  4. No, thank you for joining. Glad to have you. Got any pictures of your four "woofers" you can show us?
  5. Since we are talking dust collection again, I have two saws each with my version of the setup in the above posts using PVC pipe. My vacuum sits between the saws and I switch the vacuum to which saw I am using. I have been looking, ever since I put the systems together for the right hose/fittings to switch the DC back and forth with. Then a couple weeks ago I was looking at what Rockler had on their current sale. They had this hose/fittings set and it looked pretty good to me. I got it, I like it. The only problem is the hose is much longer than I need, it will expand to 15'. I don't want to cut it because it works so good with my orbital sander and hand belt sanders. I may make some kind of holder that will keep it constricted (?), but that I can easily pull it out of when I want to attach it to other tools. It even increased the suction some and reduce the air noise a little. https://www.rockler.com/dust-right-universal-small-port-hose-kit
  6. You did a beautiful job on that piece.
  7. Okay, if you want the best of both worlds, check this one out. He has the plans on his site. Ya, old patternatic, me, I bought the plans some time ago. Doubt if I ever build it, but it would be a fun project.
  8. Great job. Marg!
  9. Looks like you went to the next level on the inlaying. Very well done.
  10. Very well done.
  11. Thanks for the video. I enjoy your videos. I also like that pattern, may have to cut it one day. One thing. I agree with you about the fishing rod, and I think you did a good job making it look correct (in front of the mountain). If I cut it I will do the same and I will do it with the fishing line also. It needs to be in front of the mountains.
  12. A+ for unique, A+ for well thought out and A+ for putting it all together... oh, and A+ for using chocolate!!
  13. Well done and it looks like it would be fun to make.
  14. Feels good to make people happy. You piece have and well. Great work.
  15. You need to shed a little light on it.... Looks good.
  16. @terrylee, very well done, but did you mean to post it in this forum?
  17. Thanks you all for the nice comments. I do not understand myself why I like cutting these. I think it is because they are pretty easy cutting, no real fragile places. You have to take some care, but not like when cutting blades of grass or hairs. Good thing I like it, I got orders last night from wife and daughter-in-law that I have to cut another or there will be a family crisis. Guess the Hootie owl will have to wait a while. I also figured out why I like to do pieces that take some time. I love scrolling but I hate preparing the piece to start scrolling. Getting the pattern the size I want, getting the pattern glued together, prepping the wood, fastening the pattern to the wood. I just do not enjoy that part.
  18. Very nice cutting. Bright!! yes.
  19. Well done. Threw me for a while with that picture. I though for some reason, the board the piece is sitting on was part it and Iwas having a time trying to figure why you did that. Darn my old eyes/mind like to play tricks on me sometimes...
  20. Very well done.
  21. You really did a fine job. Great wood selection.
  22. Bob, I an really anxious to see your project, but I can't see the picture.
  23. Once you get use to the Hegner, you will sell the Hawk... I have never had the privilege of scrolling on a Hawk. Maybe some day the right deal will come up. If I ever see a good working G-4 at a low price,,, I almost connected with one a couple years ago... but I chickened out. Still sorry I did, I think.
