  1. First practice on some scrap wood. You don't even need a pattern. Do as Ray describes but I would add, at the end of the turn before you proceed pause to allow the blade to "catch up" with your turn. You will see or feel it complete the turn. I talking a fraction of a second pause. After some practice it becomes natural.
  2. The "hockey stick" end can also be the tip of the wing nut not rotating. It should move fairly easily. Started having that problem on my QuickClamp on my Hegner just yeaterday. I took the knurled knob out, clean the tip and put a drop of 3in1 oil on it. Wiped it good and replaced it. Fixed the problem. The knocking problem,, I would call Ray at Seyco. I bet even the lady that answers the phone could help if Ray is not around. Could check YouTube also, lots of info out there. But, a call to Ray would be quicker and probably a lot less trial and error...
  3. Nice job. I always liked the look of the Corsair also.
  4. Different and intriguing. Not sure I have figured the story out. This will create a lot of conversation. Nice work.
  5. Glad you are joining us. Look forward to seeing some of your projects.
  6. It is bark on the edges. Unfortunately not enough for it to show up good. Thanks all for the comments.
  7. "D and D Woodcrafts". https://www.dndsawbladesonline.com/ good place that sells Pegas blades. I hope they get this taken care of.
  8. sorry error.
  9. Very well done!
  10. Started this last June, then my eyes got so bad I decided to quit scrolling until I could have cataract surgery. I finally was able to have it done in October and am now getting back in the shop. Next month I will get new glasses to work with my new eyes and things will really be good to see then. But I see well enough to get back to some scrolling. This is a pattern my Tim @worbler . It is a great pattern. The Native American is Wolf Robe: "Wolf Robe or Ho'néhevotoomáhe (born between 1838 and 1841; died 1910, Oklahoma) was a Southern Cheyenne chief and a holder of the Benjamin Harrison Peace Medal. During the late 1870s he was forced to leave the open plains and relocate his tribe on to the Cheyenne and Arapaho Indian Reservation in Indian Territory." per Wikipedia. I also read somewhere he is the NA on the U. S. Buffalo nickle. I could not find where I read that. I did it in Bass Basswood which is soft and this piece was real soft, so I had to add a few bridges to keep everything in place. Thanks to Mr. Worbler for the fine pattern.
  11. Beautiful trees, well done.
  12. Melanie (meflick) is correct.
  13. I agree, the Ex is a little more aggressive than the Hegner, but it never bothered me enough to even hardly notice. If it does cause someone a problem they can nullify it by using less aggressive blades on the Ex. I love both saws. I use the same blades on each and just adjust my scrolling to which one I am using.
  14. Welcome into our neighborhood. Mayor's name is Travis. Great to have you join us. Some nice scrolling you have done there.
  15. A while back, just out of curiosity I ordered a set of Steve Good's "Signature Coins". I do not normally scroll items that I could use them on but once and a while I do. I wasn't really expecting much, but I have got to say, I think they are really very nice. Now I am looking forward to making things to use them on. You can order them on his Scrollsaw Workshop blog site. There are several different versions of them. Any how, just thought I would pass it on,, Steve Good has a good product.
  16. The top clamp, the one with the thumb screw or the Quickclamp, has a recess in it that a screw, on the top clamp holder screws down into and holds the clamp in place. The clamps for the bottom that does not have this nor does the bottom clamp holder have the screw. The top clamp and this screw, for me at least, are part of the tensioning. Anyway, you cannot just switch the steel camps, they are not the same. It would be more complicated than that. Not saying it couldn't be done somehow, just saying it is not just a switch of the clamps.
  17. Congratulations!! I know you will be very happy with it.

  22. You did a beautiful job on both pattern and cutting. Nice work. Her father is going to be very happy with his Christmas present.
  23. Scrolling is going to be very anti-climatic after completing a beautiful masterpiece like that! You have got to be so very proud. That is amazing.
  24. One of the best, no fogging glasses, efficient, comfortable, inexpensive, and works with a beard...... ya looks ridicules when wearing it.... I have one of each size, the single filter for scrolling, the double when I was sanding on the lathe and using my hand power sanders. http://duxterity.com/resp-o-rator/
