  1. not done it. Where does one put something that big when complete?? And how do you dust it? I would love to a project like that but I always think of those two questions.
  2. Thanks, Ray. I looked up MR. Cowell and watched a video at is site. That is what I want to try to learn to do. The guy does need a new scroll saw...!
  3. Ray, I used 3/4"
  4. Ha, I planted several "pine" trees years ago thinking no more leaves to rake.... well except my neighbors that blow in.. I think, raking up leaves was a lot easier than raking pine needles!!! But the pine needles don't spread all over like leaves do, so at least there is a smaller are to rake.
  5. I have set up dust collection on my scroll saws and used that Loc-Line nozzles to suck the saw dust on the top of the saw. I have tried several things along the way to put something on the end of the nozzle to catch pieces of cut offs as they are sucked up. Nylon panty hose is to fine, and gets clogged with saw dust real fast, sticking wires through the nozzles is hard and doesn't work well either. Today I came up with something I think is going to work just fine. I am replacing the sink and faucet in my little down stairs bathroom. Took the old faucet out and was going to throw it in the trash, then I saw the thingy that the water comes through. It has a screen and some kind of aerator gizmo. I took it apart and inside was this little goody, that fit right into my dust collector nozzle. Even has little clips around that expand our so it will not get sucked into the collector. This is a great find..... for me. It's the black piece in the nozzle.
  6. Very well cut. Great selection of wood, with the natural edge... made for this kind of pattern.
  7. In a few places I use FD 3/0 New Spiral, mostly cut with Pegas #1Super skip. I cut 2 - 1/8" stacked.
  8. Mine is 85% of the original size. I lost a little on the sides when I printed it. the actual cut out part is around 8 1/4" x 10" not including the border.
  9. Recently found Charles Hand's site. I ordered several patterns and so far have finished one, called "Guardian". It was a great pattern to cut. Charles also gives suggested blade and drill bit sizes for the pattern and the total number of cut outs..
  10. I have purchased from Sue Mey's site several times. Never been disappointed. Very fast service. A huge variety of patterns to choose from.
  11. "Viking Warrior" is one of my cutting I am most proud of. It was very challenging but doable. I have a few more of their patterns in my files that I will do some day.
  12. Great job!
  13. Cool! I'm thinking you should hire Jan out,,, to paint. Kinda "We send them, she paints them"!
  14. I have cut several of Alex's patterns and I put him up with a top few of my favorite pattern designers. They are get patterns and he send them electronically with different options for each pattern, i.e. black and white, gray and white, etc. The one I have received have had like four choices of each pattern to print. I think Alex is the only pattern designer that offers that. His patterns are detailed, bu not at all difficult. I highly recommend checking them out. He also provides excellent service. Patterns are sent via e-mail.
  15. I have few of Dirk Boelman's patterns and have not cut any yet. The ones I purchase are MAJOR projects, and I just haven't had the time to invest yet, but I well. They are awesome patterns. Dirk is no longer with us but his wife is keeping his patterns available and they are certainly worth considering. Not all are big project, there is a wide range to look through, something for everyone. The service is first rate.
  16. Purchased several puzzle patterns from Scott. Service is first rate as are the patterns. All I have cut were very enjoyable and relaxing to scroll.
  17. Wooden Visions and designer Charles Dearing is the first place I got introduced to detailed scroll saw pictures. I have purchased a lot of his patterns and learned from his videos on YouTube. I love all the patterns I have purchased and the service has been first class.
  18. Maybe I should not rate this site but I have been following scrolling quite a while, I have never read a negative about JGR or her patterns. If I ever start doing intarsia, this will be the first place I visit. Well, I visit there once and a while just to look.
  19. I have ordered several times for Fine Scroll Saw. I have yet to be disappointed. Always received great service and communication from Pedro.
  20. This is a great idea Travis. I was wondering to myself today it that would be possible.
  21. Outstanding all the way around, pattern, to cutting, to finish. Great work.
  22. I know what you mean! My wife keeps asking, "what are you going to do with all those pictures?" I just answer,,,, "cut more."
