  1. Oh oh oh, I don't see a picture. I want a picture.. I have to try this in 2018. My second New Years resolution.
  2. Thanks for showing, very nice.
  3. Mark, very glad to have you move in with us. Very nice looking piece you are showing.
  4. Very nice, those darn kids, seems like kids have a habit of doing that.. Even to grandpas!
  5. I have never had the experience of making a bunch of anything... They look nice.
  6. I also have a Seyco 21" that replaced a 21" Excalibur, that I sold and then wished I hadn't. I think for the most part they are very comparable. I think the Steve Good assembly video ought to be sent with the saw. It is not as easy as just taking the saw out of the box and mounting it on the stand. Very doable but, a little more complicated. The "big" table is really nice. I did not care for the magnetic table top "mat" and I replaced it with my own, mainly because I like to have zero clearance on my table top and I like to be able to do it with inserts that can be replaced. My thoughts are if the new King saw is in fact as good as the Ex, at the price they are selling it for, Seyco will have to do something. It would be a no brain-er on which to buy, equal saws at non- equal prices. One thing about the saws being manufactured by or at the same company, it doesn't necessarily mean they are of the same quality (this is my opinion, and I have no facts to back it up), the customer writes the spec for the equipment and does the enforcement of those specs. So to me the Vendor is very important to my decision. I already knew from experience what type a vendor Seyco is and was for the Ex. I am very leery about King, I do not know them. How long is the guarantee to return and replace if there is a problem? Harbor Freight is also good about that, for "'x" number of days (30 I think) unless you buy a extended warranty from them. I remember my mother-in-law purchased a little sander from them and returned and replaced 3 times before she finished her project, then what was left of the third sander, she tried to give it to me! I certainly would not want to go through that with a scroll saw. I also did not look at a Jet when buying a new saw, because, I have one Jet machine that I am less than happy with. Also, I do not want to deal with service centers. They are very hit an miss on their customer service, and ability to repair something as obscure as scroll saws. Just read the stories on this forum about experiences with DeWalt service centers. From what I read is appears you have 50/50 chance of getting good service and a fix. Again just my opinion. Oh man, too much coffee, sorry, I got carried away.... what was the question again? Oh, ya "Any comments welcome", so there you go. One more thing, just curious, I have heard many times this: "Another concern of mine is I know high end company's many times produce a cheaper line for the big box stores.just an observation. " Have you really experience that or how do you know this? I am not disputing this, I have heard it too, but I have not experienced it.
  7. Nicely done.

You did a great job all the way around.
  9. Nice scene and nice work. I think the carolers look like they are having a great time.
  10. Holy cow, Jim, that is incredible!!
  11. Larry, the clean one!! Congrats, you will enjoy that saw. Why pack away the old one? I have two saws sitting side-by-side and I switch back and forth while doing the same project. I may have a small blade in one to do the small cuts and a larger blade in the other for larger cuts, or a spiral in on and a flat blade in the other.
  12. Edward, welcome to the forum. So glad you joined. Ive been to Springfield, Mo. My Father-in -law was from near there. Now, my advice would be to set this picture aside for a little while, get some practice with different techniques, different blades and then go back. Start at the beginning and work your way forward. That way you won't get discouraged and give up. That is a pretty difficult picture for a first attempt.
  13. How do you hid a 1/16" hole?! That is a big hole in scrolling.
  14. Well you did a fine job on it. I have never tried to cut with the blade backwards, that would seem to be a little tricky. I just switch to spiral blades for the big pieces.
  15. Well, Dave, does that answer help or not? One other thing I learned, when I used different saws, I also use different blades. To make the same cut in the same wood, I will use one blade on my Seyco, but a different blade on the Hegner. All related to the aggressiveness of the saw, I suppose. I just finish cutting another 2nd Amendment wall hanging. Did it all on my Hegner,,,,, I love that saw. Mine does have definite sweet spots. It has some vibration at different speed and I run the speed up a little and it just smooths out so fine. Then there is another sweet spot at an even faster speed, and lucky for me those two spots are the speeds I like to scroll.
  16. Hey Frank, I am actively in the process of cutting a project. I just turned the saw off long enough to take the pictures.... I do not dust under the saw every time I stop the saw to move the blade from one hole to the next!! And the only reason there is that much dust is because I keep forgetting to move the bottom nozzle of my dust collection back in place where it belongs after changing the blade. I'm old, I forget!
  17. Something is wrong, Dave. Something is wrong. I have not trouble like that on my Hegner.... I assume you are using the "Quick Clamp". It works great for me each and every time. And I would have expected you to have a response from AM by now. Maybe call them.......
  18. Dave, thanks for posting that video. I have watch several of his videos, and they always make me tear up a little. I think that is his brother, with him(?), I'm not a touchy, feely guy but you can feel the love between the two. Anyway, I realized I had watched that very video before. I bookmarked to to go back to and re-watch.
  19. "your sweet bippy". haven't read/heard that in a long time...
  20. Oh oh, Travis is in the change your avatar every week mode......Who is that young lad?
  21. I think Charley's long response should be in the Articles section so it doesn't get lost. I save it to my computer so I will have it when I do more 3D cutting.
  22. Very cute, very well done.
  23. They are all nice projects. I haven't played cribbage since the early 1970's but isn't that a pretty good hand showing??!
  24. Seems to be a very popular manger scene. You really did a great job with it. Like you trees also.
  25. That a very nice job. My wife really helps me with my scrolling also, she does her quilting and leaves me alone to play in my shop. I think we work separately together just great!!
