  1. WOW! That does not look easy. Great cutting.
  2. Very nicely done.
  3. Do you mean an Excalibur 21? I have one, I love it! I also have a Hegner, I prefer the Excalibur. No sorry, I just looked it up there is an EX -11 or EX- II. I do not know about that model, obliviously.
  4. Very well done projects. One new years goal for next year is to do some of those arches with lights. I really like them and they looks so Christmas-ie.
  5. Very nice one!!
  6. Welcome to the Village. Happy you joined. I love intarsia and hope to try a few myself in 2016.
  7. Certainly did! That is a great portrait! He will love that.
  8. From what I have read about Jeff, back when I was searching for his patterns, he got into some trouble over copyright and it pretty much put him of the business. I do not know a lot of the details, but it is unfortunate. He was very talented pattern maker.
  9. Welcome to the Village. Glad you are joining us.
  10. Fine cutting and probably one of the prettiest ornaments or window hanging I have seem.
  11. So great to hear, Larry. I'm thinking I need to do the same on my machine. It is vibrating pretty bad. I just hate to take the down time to do it. But I will. Hope it fixes it like it did for you.
  12. Frank, if you scroll down on that page until you see the "New Spiral" blades (about 3/4ths of the way down the page) , it is the only section that lists the 3/0 spiral blade. It also says the drill size recommended is a #70. Keep in mind these are spiral blades and if you have not used them they take some getting use to. Some, like me, love them, others hate them. Anyway, that #70 blade is .028" dia or .7112mm in dia. a little smaller than 1/32 which is .07934mm.
  13. Great boxes. That walnut is beautiful. The drawer front grain reminds me of a feather.
  14. They look great!
  15. Great work!
  16. They look very nice.
  17. Nicely done!
  18. Kevin, you wear me out just looking at all the work you do! Where do you get the energy?? Very nice work. You mass producing machine!!!!!!!
  19. Dan, I think you are on to something here, very clever. Don't know if I can explain this but you could hook the chosen letters together (make it easier to hang on the wall or sit on smething) by gluing a rounded piece of wood along the bottom of the letters to makes it look like they are sitting in a holder like in a scrabble game. Make any sense?
  20. Yes, all good advice. The only thing I can think to add is, when buying the small bits (I use #63 through #71 mostly) the advantage of buying them from some place like Mike's or Sloan's is you can buy specific sizes and you can but them in bunches. These small bits break, so it is worth buying a dozen or so at a time. If you buy a set you will probably get some sizes you will not need or use.
  21. So happy to have you here. I have learned so much hanging here. Great bunch to share a hobby with.
  22. Very well done and I know your wife is happy with it. Can't wait to see more.
  23. Glad you joined us. A drywall finisher, you are an artist. I have no talent for that and the one thing I hire out when I need it done. When I built my house that is the one part I hire someone to do for me. I hung the drywall, but I knew it would take me months to get it taped. Took the guy I hired 2 days to do the whole house.
  24. Beautiful piece of art! Hats of to you intarsia artists. I love it. Hope to try my had at it sometime soon.
  25. Thank you all for the very nice comments. Merlin, this piece was only a little over a 1/4" (6.35mm). Most slabs I have seen on the internet are around 19mm or thicker. I like to work with somewhere around 10mm.
