  1. I posted this picture of my son in a F-18 Superhornet. He is a pilot, took a selfie and I did the picture from a pattern Mr. Lawson did for me. My son loved it EXCEPT in the Navy the rank Commander is abbreviated CDR not Cmdr as I did. So I decided to do it again. The second time I did it in 1/2" maple and routed the edges so it is self framed like I did the Lion Roar picture. I like it much better on the "do over". So does he. Redo:
  2. Clever and super cutting!
  3. Very nice signs. I cut and turned some Camphor once. Really cleared out my nose and the whole shop smelled so good. Does Camphor Laurel smell like that? I love the smell.
  4. Really fine scrolling. Love that pattern. i think you wrote here once "one hole at a time".
  5. That's so great, and Congrats to everyone of them. I want you all to know, I know that Heppnerguy. Met him personally. I'm hoping some of his talent rubs off onto me. He is a great guy.
  6. Great job. Some super cutting.
  7. I' m really liking that one. Neat pattern and a great job scrolling it.
  8. WOW! Gater that is nice. Great TV show also. One of the few I am familiar with. Nice work!
  9. WOW Dick, congratulations. That is something to be very proud of. I do not take the magazine. I am skeptical of these types of magazines because it seems like after a while they start repeating themselves. I haven't subscribed to any magazines for several years. Maybe I need to rethink that. Mike is one of my idols. His work is awesome. One of my biggest thrills was when he made a nice comment on a scroll saw piece I posted on a wood working forum.
  10. Sounds good now tell me your secret for determining which was is up on a small flat blade. I have tried many things, but an never really positive until I start sawing.
  11. You can still order them from Mike's Workshop as before. Mike does not own it anymore, Wooden Teddy Bear is the new owner but they also took over Mike's Workshop. They are charging the same prices and giving the same good service. looks like Kurt can type faster than I can....
  12. Some really fine work!
  13. Some of the people on this forum have complemented me on my pictures I have scrolled and stated they would not have the skill or patience for that type of scrolling. Now hear this, I have been trying to cut out some things requiring letters to be scrolled. I am quickly finding out that if I make a mistake on a detailed picture, I can easily hide it and who will know? but on letters if I goof it sticks out like a sore thumb! There is no hiding it! So you word artists, you have the skill for sure. More than I. My hat is off to you. Maybe a bigger detailed picture takes a little more patience, but skill, I do not think so!
  14. Did you order through Mike's Workshop or WTB? I do not see that they are back ordered at Mike's workshop. I would get in touch with WTB if that is where you ordered through and cancel and reorder from Mike's. I know, same company, but maybe different somehow. I would at least ask.
  15. My view is the best teacher for that is experience. Every saw is different. I listen to the "ping" of the blade when I thump it. It should be high pitched. But practice and do not give up. I recently bought a new saw and it is a whole new learning experience from my other saw. I was about ready to give up. Even got in contact with the seller for help. But I kept practicing over the week end and finally started having success. Now I need to work down through my blades and practice with each one I want to use.
  16. LVMEDIC3214 posted a thread about Sheila Landry Designs which it a good thing to do. I appreciate it when I read about good service and products. Let's me know where to do my business. That said, I would like to put out a shout for Sue Mey (ScrollsawArtist.com). She had a pattern I wanted. I went to her site around 7 AM this morning. Found the patterns I wanted (as always I was looking for a certain pattern, found it and another one I just had to have!), ordered the patterns, and within less than 1/2 hour they were in my email. GREAT SERVICE AND PRODUCTS!
  17. WOW! I completely missed this one, Mike. That is really a beauty. Simple a great job cutting a beautiful pattern. I love it!
  18. Nice cutt'n. Very fine job.

  22. Very nice stuff!
  23. Looks real good Gordie.
  24. Looks like you and the new saw are already old friends. Great cutting. How you liking that saw?
  25. Very well done, Peter. Course, you know they well change the size of tissue boxes so none will fit in it. That is what would happen to me!!
