  1. Len, I cut all the pieces out then painted the larger pieces with an air brush. I couldn't paint the small pieces with the air brush, it blows them away. After painting all the pieces reassembled the pieces to make the picture. It is I guess called segmented cutting, in the scroll saw world.
  2. If It do not want any change to the wood's color, I spray several coats of Deft Clear Wood Finish,, I prefer "simi-gloss". It is Lacquer, so dries quickly, and several coats can be applied if a short time. I also spray it over painted projects. I have been useing it for ocer five years now. Unfortunately It is not available everywhere. I get it at My Home Depot. It is available online... WOW,, Amazon wants almost $24 a can, I have not paid that much for it but have not had to buy any for some time... At that price I will have to rethink it. Seems to me they are trying to price people out of hobbies.
  3. Very nice items.
  4. Yep that is : Marion Robert Morrison.
  5. Thanks for posting that, I think you showed that sometime ago and I was going to add the springs.. Forgot because, well, I'm short on memory. I want to do some 3D cutting soon so will have to do the modicatiin. Need to find some springs.

Very, very nice! Really a unique picture! Just a note, I searched "midnight Schroller" and it came up with "Midnight Schrollher". She has a nice sight and some nice patterns. (https://midnightscrollher.com). She has a nice site, and patterns.
  7. That poor little frog is in a world of hurt! Very nice cutting.
  8. I have tried them all and am now back where I started. I attach my pattern directly to the wood. Remove with Mineral Spirits. The rule is what ever works best for the individual.
  9. Ditto, Ditto what has been said. But I have not used them much... Your clamps, I have not tried, I have some. but if your cut goes close to the edge of the wood the spring clamp would pinch the saw blade. I will have to remember to give them a try, next time I do some 3D cutting.
  10. You need to adjust the screw on the left back side of the say. Should be talked about in you manual. It is too tight. I had this problem on my ex and called Ray Seyco. He told me if you adjust it too tight it will wear a groove in the piece of metal it rides against and the groove gets too deep, it will no longer hold the arm up and that metal part is not replaceable. That is what I was told. I backed the screw off slightly. Now before adjusting any thing consult your manual. and wait for people with more experience before doing the adjustment... I could be wrong. Video of the bolt I am talking about.
  11. And a good job you did.
  12. Very well done. And thanks for the two new things I learned about today. I had to look up shou sugi ban and Kamon symbol.
  13. Very nice!
  14. I think it says on the top of the unit also. I mean it says "Stealthsonic" and their other models so not. I hope they come out with a 9 gal stealthsonic, I checked, one of our Lowes has them and at $139. So tempting... But.
  15. My only point on not having anyone mention the sound level I thought it was kind of strange. That is the one feature that would lead me to select this one over all others in that price range. To me that sets it apart. I just thought it would be mentioned more.
  16. Looks like you are really getting in the spirit. Really nice looking projects.
  17. Well done. I love doing projects that allow me to use more of my tools.
  18. These things a fun to cut and put together. So here is old Wile E Coyote. I got to use my air brush for the first time. Took some experimenting, but I think I have it pretty well figured out now. The gun was easy it was figuring out the paint. Getting the right mixtures.
  19. What has been said. That is a real beauty!
  20. That is totally awesome! Had my eleven old with us this weekend. We so rarely get to see him that the first few hours is spent just getting to know each other again... Did not do shop work this time. It was so nice outside we wanted to enjoy it while it lasted. So we shot the pellet rifle at spent spray paint cans and salvaged the marbles that were inside. We had a good time.
  21. Okay, I'm puzzled, I searched this and read a lot of reviews, and of the ones I read not one mentioned how quiet it was, and to me that is the feature that sets it apart. I would purchase one just for that feature. An looking at the specks I saw nothing mentioned.. about the sound.
  22. best cop show ever, been watching it on hulu. I did not watch it much when it was a regular series. ran 12 seasons.
  23. CHARLIE! I really enjoy your Celeb pictures... I have two words for you "Andy Sipowicz"
