  1. I use a combination of things. Sand paper attach to a thin piece of wood, needle files and sometime just sand paper folded to the shape I need to work on.
  2. Glad you had a good show. This fall it seems as though a lot of people are opting for cash as my card sales have gone down and cash sales were up. Not too many checks either . We are done with shows for this year. Too many orders to get out and still getting phone calls and e mails for Christmas items. A good problem to have but the time is running short to get all done.
  3. We have a lumber supply store about 45 miles from my house. Good quality and reasonable prices. The people there are great to work with and seem generally interested in your needs. They will also custom mill a piece for you with a smile on their face or skim a board so you can see the grain and patterns. Most of what they sell is rough cut. I have ran to the big box stores and gotten pieces I can run through the thicknesses and have found some of the 3/4 to be all cracked and split inside. Making it unusable for anything which is upsetting.
  4. Happy you had a good show. I have noticed around here people are spending a little more this year too. Hopefully things will continue to improve next year .
  5. @Travis I don't understand how this all works. But leaving it up may help in the future also. If someone is looking for something the pennies could add up ? Personally I am happy to support your efforts and time. Other sites leave this up year round for help. Just a quick thought.
  6. Looking forward to seeing the photos. Good luck with your show, let us know how you did .
  7. You can select the letters, choose object to path then select un-group. Move the individual letters to the way you want then. Highlight all of them and then select group. Move the group to where you want it. Hope this helps and makes sense. There may be another way to do this but this is what I do.
  8. Beautiful picture. I love fresh fallen snow and the way it looks. I can do with out it on the roads and the idiots that try to drive in it though. Can't you put a small heater in the shop ?
  9. Congrats on the early present.
  10. Glad things worked out for the good, Just don't over do it and follow the paths the Dr's have laid out for you.
  11. Look for a second icon for gimp. I always install programs from a folder rather my desktop. And have it create the desktop icon. You can also look in the programs listing to see if it is there.
  12. Great job. Always enjoy hearing when some one does good.
  13. Happy Thanksgiving to all. We all have so much to be thankful for.
  14. First thought for me was Maple. As for dowels. Why not make a square post and cut in half ? Use 4 triangles on the corners to keep them in place ? Just a thought.
  15. Great to see how well these work. Plan on adding one to my shop .
  16. I know the behind the scenes story. And I greatly appreciate all you do . I am sure I do not stand alone on that
  17. Much easier to see the red lines I agree 100% . And if you got what you needed then it was a wise investment. Looking forward to seeing it cut when you get a chance.
  18. Just submitted 5 to Travis for his consideration. Hoping it helps.
  19. Not a bad looking deal. At least they stated it is a refurbished unit. Free shipping and a 90 day warranty.
  20. Mother Nature is a major player when doing shows. Have to take the lumps as well as the success and go from there. The Mrs. and I always look at the whole picture before saying a good or bad show. Keep the Faith. Glad your in the black though.
  21. Nice display and array of items. Glad to hear you did well.
  22. Happy for you Edward. Always nice to do good at a show.
  23. Nice display glad you ended in the black.
  24. I doubt they got Square but maybe your card info ? I would cancel and make the needed changes. Pain in the butt but better then having your identity stolen.
  25. Ray I have the pattern but never cut it. After seeing this it got added to my list of things to create . Thank You. Great job
