  1. How thick is the wood and how big is the drill bit?
  2. Very impressive work. The wife is out shopping black friday. On our list is a donation for toys for tots and we also give to the local food pantry.
  3. I do my glue ups then stain the piece if it is all one color. Once the glue is dried. I then wipe a little mineral spirits around the glue joints. That will show any squeeze out or places the glue remains. A little light hand sanding takes care of it, then stain and finish. Hope this makes sense and helps.
  4. I hope all had a Blessed Thanksgiving and great day with family and friends.
  5. Interesting way to light up the patterns. Glad to hear it works well for you
  6. Thanks for posting pretty neat idea.
  7. If your looking for / into Flying Dutchman blades. I would suggest mikesworkshop.com. Now owned by WoodenTeddyBear but good prices and service. Just a thought.
  8. When I get a chance to clean up my shop. I'm sure I will find things that have been missing for quite a while. After the holiday season I'm looking to start.
  9. I use PDF Architect for this. The one Roly showed is much cheaper to purchase.
  10. Have to make time for this. Being a one man operation it's tough but .... What's the deadline ?
  11. I would think that contact cement should work very well.
  12. So happy to hear you got resolve. Now about those photos
  13. Congrats on a fantastic day . Great display and work means you get to do it all over again And that's a good thing
  14. I have used all the above. When I do use BLO I top it with Lacquer. Mrs. N brought up a point about how Poly will tint the finish. You won't notice it on stains and but for those that paint you can see it. Watco is a good choice and shellac is lso. Water based shellac is totally clear and dries very fast. Clean up is denatured alcohol so ventilation is needed. But evaporates very quickly.
  15. I use the blue painters tape under my patterns. WHen I do larger pieces in pine I use a pre-stain wood conditioner so that the stain matches across the board. Something I learned quite a while ago when I did some furniture for a customer and had to do tons of extra work to the top of the table when the stain went blotchy :(. If you are going to stain the front and back, pre treat both sides to keep it even Hope this helps.
  16. Here is my take. I had the same problem with inverted colors. Got the worked out but had to shrink the pattern slightly.
  17. I use regular masking tape around the edges of the packs. If it is too tall I trim it flush with a razor blade. Seems to hold better then the blue for me.
  18. I believe Steve Good has something on his site. I have cut the fireman raising the flag, it was publish in one of the magazines I subscribed to and had some touchy areas in it.
  19. Kevin Try this, may be a little confusing but I'll do this as simple as I can. You will need you phone plugged into the computer. Then I opened the file manager, then I directed it to my desktop. I created a folder on my desktop " my photos " . To create a folder right click on your desktop and select new folder then give it a name. I clicked on "this PC" in the left column of the file manager. Then made my way to my phone, it was named Samsung etc. My phone stores photo in a folder named DCIM so I had to find it. Once I located it I opened it and seen all my photos. Next I went to my desktop and open the " my photos " folder. I do this all in split screen view. You should have 2 windows open in file manager one you phone photos and the other the folder you created on your desktop. Left click on the first photo then scroll to the bottom hold down the shift key and click on the last photo. They will all show selected, then drag then into the file folder you created and they will copy into it. Makes it easy to find photos. When you take new photo you only need to copy them over then. I really hope this makes sense and helps you my friend.
  20. Painter tape then pattern then cut for me.
  21. Kevin Look in the folder your photos are kept. I believe they should be sorted by date. Someone correct me if I am wrong here. I use file manager to get my photos off my phone. It give me more control on what I want and where I want it. Hope this helps.
  22. Times when they're not available some folks tend to take advantage of this. Personally I would pass but then I have a lot of the books and such. I would just say buyer beware
