  1. Yes. After 55 years, I've learned who is really the boss.

  3. Very nice. I wish I was allowed to do things like that. The manager where I live says no to any type of interior design changes. Everything MUST comply.
  4. It's there Paul. You just can't see it from that pic. It's probably folded down and toward the front of the saw. If you look at the second pic it shows how to set it.
  5. Exactly why unregistered is all I own. All bought used with just a written receipt.
  6. Thanks J.T. I have since found out that they made 2 different sized tables in that same model number. Unfortunately, I have the larger of the 2. So, I've now got a nice fence to sell. Oh well, I was wondering what my next project would look like. Now, I know it's taking pics, posting to the normal venues, and hoping someone comes along and wants it.
  7. Sorry, Paul. After reading the following posts I went back and looked again. I don't know how I missed those 2 important things. Be glad you missed it.
  8. That looks like a nice saw Paul. I'll wager that it's an Ultra. You might contact the seller and ask for some pics of the blade holders and also back where the wedge is in the rear. If it's still nice and sharp that means it's not had a lot of use. That saw looks alot like the one that I bought a few years back. I gave $250 for it with about 20 hours on it. I figured that I stole it. After realizing how big it was, I sold it for $500. Actually after going back and taking a second look at that saw, I see that it has the holes in the hold-down support. That means it has the good blade holders. I'd throw $300 at him and see what he says. It looks very clean.
  9. I have a Delta 28-206 bandsaw. It's the Chinese version of the U.S.A. made 14 inch band saws that have been around for eons. Anyway, I thought I did all the due diligence regarding what fits what and bought a used Delta fence on eBay. It should fit. But, it doesn't. It's about an inch and a half short on one end. So, my question is, for anybody who has a Delta 14" band saw, could you please measure the table top across the flats from front to rear. Not across. Mine measures 16 1/8". So, I guess it would make sense that the fence wouldn't fit. But now I don't know which fence I should be searching for. There are no new fences from Delta so whatever I buy will have to be used. Thanks for any help.
  10. That's exactly what I was going to suggest. I'm thinking the upper arm is not returning to the full down position. Start checking for anything that might be preventing it from lowering all the way. When I had my Dewalt, I found a couple of times that when the saw stopped, it was at a position where the arm didn't come down. I just had to step on the foot switch briefly and it would come to rest. When you rotate the slider to take the tension off, make sure it is going all the way back and is pushing the tension wedge back as far as it will go. Something is holding the upper arm up.
  11. I think the tension knob is in a very inconvenient place. If you aren't in a hurry, I'd wait for something better. Sorry to hear of the thievery. It seems to be happening everywhere.
  12. I found the Facebook page for this fellow and he offers all of his patterns "free to use". Here is the pattern you are wanting.
  13. It's really easy. If you have the pic on your computer, make note of it's location. Which file folder etc. Then when you want to post it, you just click on the "choose files" in the lower left corner. That will open up a window where you can "browse" to where the pic is. Just click on that file and it will upload it.
  14. That's great. More folks should do what you did and watch a video or two. It's nice to know what to look for and what to check when things don't go as they should. You have now got a saw that will outlive you. Put a few drops of oil on that V notch. Also, there is some stuff to know about the front tension lever. Kevin can weigh in on that as he has the experience. I don't think there are any other points to oil. If I'm not mistaken the bearings in both the arms are sealed so no oil needed there. Maybe check the drive link arm from the motor up to the lower arm. There might be a bearing there to oil. Then get to cutting. You'll love that saw. Congrats an a great deal.
  15. If you ever find the pattern will you show us? I'd lime to see it.
  16. A very smooth running saw. The only wear point to be aware of is the aluminum wedge at the rear of the saw's upper arm. It rides in a vee groove and should be pretty sharp. Not rounded over. See if they will send pics of that area.
  17. The huge difference between the two saws that I see is parts availability. The P20 parts will become scarce at some point but the Hawk will never have that problem in your lifetime. I'd buy it and put the P20 aside for a back up saw. I bought a 226 Ultra but it was way too big for my shop. If it had been a saw like the one you are looking at, I'd probably still have it.
  18. Buy it! Nice size.
  19. My leg hurts already just watching.
  20. That arm is pretty heavy so it would take a hefty spring. But....worth a try.
  21. I've taped a playing card over the center hole of the table. Just slide tbe card through the blade about 1/2 way and tape in place with clear tape.
  22. Is it out of the question to start a small business of importing/selling hobbyist needs? Any possibility of "partnering" with this person? There has to be a way. Never say never.
  23. That's a shame. You would find that the reverse toothed blades will help with the fuzzies. Is the importer ignorant of what scrollers want, need and will buy? Maybe suggest to him that he join SSV so we can tutor him. I can't imagine he doesn't want to make money by getting what you need. Are there limitations to what he is allowed to import?
  24. I take it that you don't have any reverse tooth blades.
