  1. Maybe it's time for one or more of you scrollers to step in and either help out or take the business over. Buy him out or just help get him off his high center. If the business is only a sideline/hobby, you maybe can add some sage advice to help him. It would be a win/win for all involved.
  2. I won't mention which political party is the cause of all this stupidity. We all know which one it is. So, when the election rolls around, be sure you vote wisely. Even if he has to rule from a jail cell.
  3. How about Thompson's water seal like we use for decks? I built a gate for my daughter and used it on that and it's been 5 years and looks like new.
  4. Charley, you amaze me with all your talent. That is beautiful!
  5. Here's one near me to use as an example. It appears to be complete, including the center plate. https://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/tls/d/carlsbad-delta-16-variable-speed-scroll/7733822180.html
  6. We are seeing similar things starting to happen here too. Greed is rearing it's ugly head.
  7. That's how I'd do it if I had the space. Very nicely done, Dan.
  8. Just curious, are you able to receive mail from outside the country? There may be folks on here who could send you what you need. I have no experience at doing that but would it be possible?
  9. My 2 cents worth. If you are in need of a machine and this one works as stated, for that price, you almost can't go wrong. But, with that said, be on the look out for a better machine in the future. Have you checked around to see what else is out there? Not knowing where you are located, we can't suggest anything. In my area, there are some great saws at very reasonable prices. Best of luck in whatever you choose to do.
  10. I have no wall space. My stack tool box is full to the max. Remember, I sold tools for 40 years and I was my best customer.
  11. Huh? What'd I say? I can't find my post.
  12. I bought a Hawk 226 Ultra. Actually, I stole it. Less than 20 hrs on it. I really liked it but in my small shop the footprint was just too big. It had to go. Sad!
  13. Here I am putting it all together. It went quicker than expected. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1475171573406854?s=yWDuG2&fs=e&mibextid=Nif5oz
  14. A vast improvement for sure. I wish I had that much room. My problem is, when we moved in, the first thing I did was buy a stacked tool box and an 8 foot long maple topped work bench. I've tried thinking of how to change my shop around but as long as I have those two things, I can't do much. I wonder how others organize all their small hand tools. Wrenches, socket sets, pliers, screwdrivers etc. You did yourself a lot of good in how you've cleaned and organized. Hat's off to ya.
  15. I have no personal experience but I might just say, in your scrolling experience, have you ever had a need for a bigger saw? Do you ever make large projects? Have you ever had to NOT do a project because it was too big? For me, all the answers would be no. I have no need for a larger saw. But if you do signage, I can see where it might be useful. Just my 2 cents worth. And probably not worth that, even.
  16. David! You know me too well. I'd even ask for delivery.
  17. I'd have to try for a better deal though. That's just me. I never pay the asking price unless it's already at a ridiculous low. That saw, seeing as how it's long discontinued, is in the $150-200 range. Use the parts availability thing as your bargaining chip.
  18. Is it a variable speed? If I'm not mistaken it is a belt driven saw with maybe 5 speeds. If that doesn't matter to you, it's probably a good saw. Not sure about parts availability.
  19. 3 hours ago, JimNC said: Found my noise. When I hold the machine down tightly, the noise goes away. I built a new bench and I think the normal vibrations of the machine are amplified by the empty and hollow bench. I think I should think of putting rubber pads under the machine and bolting it down will do the job. I made the top of the bench attached with a hinge so that i could adjust the saws slant. I used a large door hinge because that is what I had. I'm going to change that to a piano hinge before I bolt bolt the saw down. Also as stated " the manual says all bearings are sealed and do not need lubrication". Thanks for all the great help! Don't believe everything you read. I'm familiar with the bearing numbers listed and they are not sealed. They are the same bearings that Dewalt uses.
  20. Beautiful job of cutting. I hope you get more blades soon. Are they difficult to come by?
  21. Well done! A very unique idea. Not many of us will be able to copy them. For sure!
  22. Beautiful work. As always
  23. I lost my marbles. Now I know where they went.
