I've considered that too. The reason I was looking at the old Craftsman is, it is the only drill press I've ever seen that has a quill lock on it. That is such a handy thing to have that when you don't have it, you'll miss it. Just being able to bring the quill down with a sanding drum in it or whatever the reason, and just turn the little lever on the left side, then the quill stays where you put it. I loved it and after I sold my other Craftsman, I sure did know I made a mistake. I'm still looking to replace it.
