  1. Like everybody else has said, once tightened and ready to saw, does the slop go away? My EX is loose but not quite that loose. Once the lever is thrown, it's tight and all good. I love my saw with the Pegas clamps.
  2. I found one source for that pattern. Old crow scrollwerks. $6.00
  3. Great news Dan. Just don't over do it. Slow and steady wins the race.
  4. It's a very famous and popular picture. Someone must have created a pattern. I'd like to find it too. Maybe the same person who did yours.
  5. Look at the new Pegas. It is just like the the EX21 and very pretty. So far it is getting RAVE reviews. I have a 2010 EX and I love it. I do wish it had the Pegas paint job though.
  6. Now you need to do the one of dogs playing poker. Very job on this. I like it.
  7. All good info and advice Bill. Thanks.
  8. Crupeia, there is something knowns as "the 5 second rule" and I abide by it totally. It grosses my wife out when I pick up something I've dropped and eat it. Waste not, want not!
  9. Les, thanks for keeping the conversations open. I've noticed a lag here too. I figured that the weather must be nice once again and folks are moving back out to the shop. Here, it's been very windy and it rattles my shop roof since it's really nothing more than the awning over our driveway. Anyway, I'm happy that you are active. I have a similar compressor but mine is a 6 gallon. I have it nested under my workbench and I have a really long hose that I can run outside if necessary. About the only thing that I air up out there anymore are the two tires on my dolly. About once every 2 years. So, I just use mine for my nailers and to blow off a piece after sanding prior to finishing. My wife knows better than to touch anything in my shop. If I didn't keep my eye on her, she'd toss everything that didn't look like it was valuable. Like I said in a prior post, I have the "packrat" gene and there are many things out there that she thinks should be put BACK into the dumpster that I dug them out of. "One man's trash" and all that.
  10. Me too Les. But you have a nicer can.
  11. Qtena.com. They are about an hour from where I live so I get 1-2 day service. Very responsive to emails too. Great customer service.
  12. H/F has a new line of power tools named Bauer. I almost bought the new RO sander when on sale but haven't yet. Has anybody tried them yet? They retail at about $40 but when on sale $24.95 with coupon. I'm very tempted.
  13. Off subject but looking at your pics, did you notice any increased vibration when you installed the wood "knobs" on your clamp thumb screws? I did something similar when I had my Dewalt. I tried very hard to make upper and lower wood add-ons identical in size, shape and weight. I had no problems.
  14. Les, do a Google search for "aluminum magnet". There's new stuff coming out all the time.
  15. I think I heard that trick way back when I first started scrolling by watching Youtube videos. If you don't have playing cards handy, a business card works just as well. Just cut a kerf halfway through it and tape it in place. No hole at all.
  16. Neither did you. We all make mistakes. I can't tell you how many times I have screwed up over the years. I think I'm taking everything into consideration and when I go to install something, it never fits. It's never too small. I always have to cut it down. I've learned how to hide my screw ups.
  17. Wayne, you will wonder why you waited. I hated the idea of spending $100 on something that really wasn't broken. But once installed and in use, I was very happy that I made the decision to buy them. My saw didn't suffer from excessive vibration but after I installed the Pegas clamps, it became even smoother. I'm like Paul in that if they broke or wore out, I'd buy another set.
  18. I'll take a look there but I sure don't recall seeing it. But, after calculating what Les bought, I don't see the real cost savings over buying a sheet of true B/BB plywood.
  19. I can't imagine going through what you are. My heart goes out to you and your family. If we were in closer proximity, I'd be happy to help. But then, I might be in the same mess. I hope it all works out well for you. I had never heard of New Bern before so I did a look up of it and came across these pictures. You are lucky to have survived that devastation. So sad! https://www.theatlantic.com/photo/2018/09/photos-the-aftermath-of-hurricane-florence/570397/
  20. that works out to 8 pieces 12 x 12 for $15. Almost as much as the good stuff.
  21. Les, I've tried to find that at our H/D store but can't seem to find it. Is there another name for it? I might be blind. Well, there is that.
  22. Good idea Brian.
  23. Les, if that sounds reasonable, what do you think of this. 24. That is the absolute truth. It has happened too many times for me to ever doubt the power of Murphy's law.
  25. I'm actually very surprised that any of the saws produced in China have anything but aluminum tables. I know they do everything they can to reduce the shipping weight and going to a lighter table would fall into that category.
