I don't know if I should ask this question here as I don't want to hijack the thread but it's a related question. So, here goes. I have Irfanview on my computer and every time I try to download a new font, it is automatically opened by Irfanview. I went into the file association menu and unchecked the TTF files but it still defaults to Irfanview. What am I doing wrong and how do I change it? There is no "install" option when I right click on the icon on my desktop. I'm confused as to what changed. I know it has to do with some setting in Irfanview. For some reason, Irfanview takes it as an image and when I click on it I get an image of the font and all of its styles.
Edit: I uninstalled Irfanview then re-installed it using the download for Windows 10 64 bit. At that point, I was given the option to pick and choose file types. I selected "images only" and finished the install. That did it. Now, when I download a font, I get the Irfanview icon with the TTF file name and when I right click I get the "open with" option. I select Windows Font Viewer. That opens an image of the font properties and I get the "install" option. So, I figured it out on my own. Happy Birthday to me!!
