    I could use that same advice. I have worked hard but for some reason, I still have a large hind end.

    I'll bet the top and bottom blade clamps aren't in sync with each other. It only takes a fraction for this to happen. If you do any 3-D scrolling you'll know really quick. The blade has to be at a perfect 90º to the table. It requires moving the set screw on both blade clamps so the blade is perfectly vertical. If you have already done that, something else is amiss. Possibly a bent arm or worn bearings/bushings.

    I've been following along too. I have become a member of just about all the Facebook groups that deal with woodworking and scroll sawing. This one seems to need some new leadership if it's going to survive. I'm much more interested in local clubs but unfortunately, there aren't many near me to choose from. The one here in Orange County doesn't seem to be doing much either.

    Rolf, I like the idea of the handle. Where did you find one? Did you custom fabricate it? Also, did you leave the wheels on the rear legs? If so, could you post a pic? I'd like to see how you mounted them.

    Step 1....Remove from saw. Step 2...Lay side with rod touching floor. Step 3...Slide rod under bottom edge of door. Step 4...Gently tap hold down foot with tip of shoe so as to wedge rod under door." Step 5...Leave in this position until ready to close door.

    I have never had the pleasure of doing business with them but I do know that cancer is the most hideous, depicable thing I can think of. It has taken so many good folks way before their time. Such a shame we can't put more resources toward finding a cure and/or a prevention. Somehow, I personally think that they will find many cures in the world of cannibis. I keep hearing about all the success stories of CBD oil and even the Feds have approved it for people who have seizures. I hope this lady is successful in her battle of the dreaded disease.

    I watch that show all the time and I'm happy to see that they are pushing the trades. Mike Rowe is behind a lot of it. He is a great guy and someone that the younger folks look up to.

    I must have lost my mind there for a second. How about getting rid of the three shovels and buy here a shiny new bigger one? Won't take as much room and she will get done quicker.

    At present, I have 3 saws and none of them have the hold down on them. My first saw didn't have it. The previous owner must have ditched it.

    There is a tv commercial that shows two "millenials" with a flat tire. They don't have a clue what a lug wrench is for or what it looks like. I know it's an extreme example but not far from the truth. I think all girls should take an auto shop class and all boys should take home economics. It just makes sense. Bill O'Reilly said one night on his show " We need folks who know how to fix stuff". TRU DAT!

    I love diesels! The sound of them gets my blood churning. I'm SOOO ready to hit the road again. Best 3 years of our married lives. If we weren't so old, we'd be back out there.

    We pulled our 36ft Hitchhiker 5th wheel behind a 2001 Chevy cc dually. With wind behind, 14. With a headwind 7-9. Duramax/Allison combo chipped.

    The Ridgid is fairly large. The H/F is smaller and much lighter weight. I had a Ryobi once and it had a small footprint. You'll love having this type sander.

    Did we figure out yet what sander Rocky is asking about? I have both the Ridgid spindle/belt sander and a cheapie H/F palm random orbit sander.

    I bought one on Amazon that uses replaceable filters. I like it because it has two straps. One goes around my neck with a clasp at the back. The other one goes behind the crown of my head and has a plastic cup on the top that really helps position it. It came without the filters because there are different types. I think all together it was under $30. Also, if you take your mask to a fabric store, I'll bet you can buy new elastic for it. I'd try that first. Just a 25 mile trip.
