  1. I bought mine used. It's a 2010 and lightly used. So far, I love it and no matter what happens, I will keep it going. Keep us updated on what you find.
  2. Les, I have to agree. I have some but haven't tried them yet. I was wondering, when using the spiral blades, do you not have to turn the wood? Is that the idea? Just feed the wood into the blade from all angles and not have to steer it? So to speak.
  3. Excellent display and very nice work. Thanks for sharing your show experience.
  4. I sure hope this isn't going to be an ongoing problem with these saws. So far, I haven't had a problem but then again, I'm not one to be changing the speed all the time. I have a "sweet" spot that seems to be good for most everything I do. At least so far.
  5. I just came across this thread again because of a link back to it. I'd be interested in knowing how much of a job it was to install the new control that you bought. Was it an easy fix? Just for future info. I like to know in advance what is entailed in the repair.
  6. I have mine set at the strongest point and I lubed the sliding screw/washer to take the drag off of it. I'll have to see if I can get it freed up a bit. Thanks.
  7. What arm lift are you referring to Kevin. I have the Jim Dandy on my Dewalt but it doesn't pick the arm up automatically. I have to lift it and then it stays up. Is there another one that I don't know about?
  8. Les, when we were out on the road, we spent a couple of months up in the Custer S.D. area. We went to both the Mt. Rushmore and the Crazy Horse monuments. After going to Crazy Horse and doing some reading and listening to lectures, both my wife Barb and I came away with a whole new understanding of how badly the Indians got screwed by the U.S. government. I'm ashamed for what we as a nation did to those people.
  9. Brad, I wish you lived a bit closer to me. I'd enjoy sitting on the front porch with you for a while and just "jawing". I had no idea of the insight that you possess. I'd love to hear your background stories. And to think that you are so much younger than me, I'm humbled.
  10. Hey AmazingKevin, are you close to Iggy? Two more 788's for your collection.
  11. My sentiments too Les. I have always loved history and it's a shame they stopped teaching it in school.
  12. I thought so at first too but after comparing the top sign and then looking at your post Wayne, the top one seems to have more "block/square" to it. Not as much rounding. Just my take on it. I have no idea about fonts but that's what it looks like to me. Compare the "I"s. They have turn downs on them.
  13. Thanks Brad for posting the pics of your work. They are great. More interesting though is the story behind them and your family history. I love reading that stuff. Also, for anybody who loves to read and read non-fiction, there is a great book out about how badly the Osage Indians got screwed over when oil was discovered on their little piece of Oklahoma. The name of the book is "Killers of the Flower Moon". You won't regret reading it. I couldn't put it down.
  14. Brad, stop getting down on yourself. You are very talented, you have a ton of great equipment and a great shop to work in. Now, all ya gotta do is get back to feeling good. Both physically and mentally. Your work speaks for itself. I am in awe of what you do. I am still in the learning stage. Very early learning stage. I appreciate YOU taking the time to read my posts and help me along. We are all here together to keep each other company and to help wherever we can. Thanks for just being you.
  15. I joined a while back but I just didn't see enough content to interest me. I tried many times to get into the flow of the site but it just didn't wind my crank. Sorry. No offense intended.
  16. Welcome back. This is the best scroller's forum on the web.
  17. Thanks Brad. And I second what Paul said about the wood. Do you have a pattern or is it all freehand? Where in the world did you get the idea for "dream catchers"?
  18. or months. Or years. Or a lifetime.
  19. 400? I don't have THAT many saw blades. You guys sure have a way of making me feel inadequate. I feel great if I FINISH a project or two. I get sidetracked so easily. And then there are the "honey-do's" too.
  20. Well, where's the pics? Without pics, we can't believe you John T.
  21. Me too. So many cuts. Wow!
  22. Will do Brad. I think I might have checked it out before but I can't recall. Old age sucks. Ok, just checked it out and I did see it before. I left you a couple of messages. You do some fine work. I'm very envious of your talent. I DON'T envy you your health problems though. Stay strong, keep pedalin' and you will eventually get back in the saddle.
  23. That looks like quite a project. I can't imagine even the drilling that will be required.
  24. Hey Brad, I'd like to see a sample of your work so I can get some idea of what you are talking about. I know what a dream catcher is but I don't recall ever seeing one that you made. Do you have any pictures to post?
  25. Hey, it's my thread. I started it and we can talk about whatever we want. No hijacking here. Unless somebody changes the subject. Now, where were we?
