    Here's a couple of pics that I hope will show why I can't hang it out in the middle of the room. I'm going to move it but so far, I don't know where I want it or can put it. I'll figure it out.

    Brad, please don't apologize for going on at length. Sometimes a person just needs to talk to somebody. We are here for you. I think that is what makes this place what it is. A bunch of folks who may not know each other personally but are here for each other when needed. I know that I have had that feeling from the beginning and I'll bet the others pretty much feel the same way. We are all pulling for you to feel GOOD again. Hang in there, follow the doctor's orders and keep on scrolling.

    Stoney, I agree with what you say but the problem I have is the ceiling of my shop is actually a part of the awning system on my mobile home. I have added shelves so that my wife can store her seasonal stuff. The shelves are high enough to do that but they are also low enough that they have become a hindrance. I may figure out another way in the future but for now, this will have to suffice. I probably will bring it closer to my main saw and if I decided to sell the Dewalt, I'll relocate the EX and then hang the air filter in a different place. Thanks for your input.

    I left some on for a couple of months. Maybe longer. I just heated with a heat gun and it came right off.

    I was just thinking about making a circle cutting jig for the scroll saw. I have one for my bandsaw but it's too big and cumbersome for the size I need. I have found that it is VERY difficult to cut a full circle by hand. I get some very strange circles.

    I don't think there is anything worse than a bad back. It can totally immobilize you and what kind of life is that?

    I like the idea of being able to differentiate between the black blade and the red line. It's easier on MY eyes. Everybody is different though.

    Well, I got it up where I wanted it to go but I wasn't able to use the chains and hooks that came with it without doing a lot of rigging. So, I just raised the shelf that was already there and put it up on a shelf. It will be just fine up there. My shop is so small that it should turn the air over quite a few times while I'm in there working and I'll set the timer for after I leave the shop. It is fairly quiet on the low speed but gets louder as the speed increases. Still not overly loud. I think it will serve me well.

    The young folks of today haven't been taught how to do things so they assume it can't be done. SAD!

    Frank, I was about to say the same thing. My Delta is the Chinese version and it works great. Not as nice as the American made one I used to have but it works and I got it pretty cheap. I have been replacing most all of my tools with Harbor Freight and Craigslist stuff. Most everything works just fine for what I do.

    I need your friend. I have nobody to do my welding. I would buy a mig welder but the cheapest, lowest powered one is 90 amps and our park only has 50 amp service. It was built back in the 60's when folks only had one tv and no microwaves. Bummer!

    I built two saw stands so far. One with four legs and one with 3. I really do like the 3 legged one the best. With that said, I'm sure there is a way to convert your Hawk to a 3 legged stand. Maybe by combining the two front legs into one by overlapping them and then bolting to the center of the table? Just a thought here without actually seeing it in person. Or do away with the two factory legs and build a T to fit up under the table with a center leg? There is always a way if you want it badly enough.

    I'm very much the same way. I guess that's why I was quite successful in the mobile tool sales business for almost 40 years. I still want to read Trump's The Art of the Deal. I'm going to before I die.

    My point is though, there were no less than 4 bandsaws on C/L for under $300.
