I have tried the adhesive shelf paper and it works ok. I have just started using the full page shipping labels that are printable. They seem to work the best so far. I also use a heat gun to remove any of the material that I use but not hot. Just enough to get a corner loose. Then while holding the heat gun back a bit I aim it the material and just peel it off as it warms. So far I haven't had to use mineral spirits. When I use the spray adhesive, I have to use MS. I really like the labels the best. I don't use any blue tape at all. I do use the clear packing tape if I have some delicate work.

What exactly is "sanding sealer"? I asked for it at Home Depot and they couldn't tell me.

It's a double wide 1600 sq. ft. We had it built to order so we could have that front porch. We love to sit out there in the summer and read a book and sip a glass of wine. Ahhh retirement. The downside is, we don't own the land so we will have to pay rent forever.

We lived up in the Colorado Rocky Mountains at one time. we were at 8500 feet elevation. Lot's of snow. Very cold winters. My wife slipped twice the same day going out to the mail box and fell on her hip. She said, we aren't EVER going to live where it snows again. She is the boss.

I have bought 3 used saws on C/L. I have the Dewalt, the EX21 and a Hegner 18" as shown in my signature below. I first started with the Dewalt because I knew nothing about the others. I love it as well as the EX. The Hegner is a different animal. I will learn to love it in time. Because the Dewalt and the EX are so similar in design I'll probably sell the Dewalt. I don't need 3 saws. Anyway, with all that said, and also being somewhat of a novice if I were you, I'd first do a lot of reading here on SSV and then try to find folks who have the different saws you are thinking of. Give them a try if possible. Right now, if I had to make a choice between my 3 saws, I'd keep the EX for sure. I love it. I'm probably going to upgrade the clamps with the new Pegas offering. I hope this doesn't confuse you. I'd for sure start watching Craigslist in your area. There are a ton of good used saws near me but I live in a very crowded area. Not sure how your area is. Good luck to you no matter what you go with. Just take your time. Don't jump into anything because it's truly a thing where each individual prefers a different saw.

You know what? I've fixed more than one tv by doing the same thing with the flat of my hand against the outside of the cabinet. Back in the days when they used tubes they would get sort of corroded and a good whack once in a while kept them going.

Brad, do you have a gallery of what you do? I'd like to see some of what you make. Just curious.

This brings back a bad memory I have. I was in Las Vegas at a blackjack table many many years ago. I had too much to drink and passed out and fell off the stool onto the floor. They wheeled me out of the casino in a wheelchair. Embarrassed to say the least. Never did that again.

Kevin, I think you must have had a defective clamp as I find mine doesn't have that problem. My biggest gripe is in trying to get the blade in at the correct height but maybe Paul has the fix for that. I'm going to put a set of Pegas clamps into my budget in the near future and see if that fixes everything. Oh, and my apology for seemingly hijacking this thread. I said I wasn't going to do that anymore but here I am doing it again.

Paul, I'll give your method a try. Another question.....I know this has probably been asked and answered a thousand times but here goes. Each clamp, both top and bottom has a thumb screw and the mating "anvil" on the opposite side. I have read both ways to adjust this anvil. I like it so it is set flush with the inside wall of the slot where the blade goes. But, from what I have read and heard, you are supposed to adjust it so it is partially into the slot and centered so the blade is centered in the slot. I find that makes it more difficult to install the blade. What is your take on this? Anybody else want to chime in?

Scott, I have recently acquired a used EX21 and am too new with it to have found anything to dislike. What exactly do you like about the Pegas clamps and what didn't you like about the originals? I'm just trying to put all the info together before I buy the Pegas. The one thing that I have found so far that I'm not sure I like is the upper blade mounting. It is difficult to get the blade inserted in the exact spot it needs to go. Nothing to keep it from going all the way up into the spring. On my Dewalt, it is an easy shot to just push the blade all the way into the clamp and tighten the clamp screw. Does the Pegas solve that problem?
