  1. Sit for me. I have terrible bad feet so standing is a killer for me.
  2. No, Mars/Venus is the difference between men and women.
  3. Have you ever heard of "Murphy's Law"? Nobody can escape it.
  4. I don't know if you already have this parts break down but I found this. https://www.clarkeservice.co.uk/manuals/woodworker/css400.pdf It appears that is a saw that comes out of the U.K. Not sure where you are. Good luck After scrolling to the bottom of the pdf, I see there is an email address for parts.
  5. Les, go to FB and up in the top left area there is a search bar. Type in "saw dust haven" and you will get two choices. Take the one that refers to St. Francis, Ks.
  6. Here, it's not called turpentine anymore. It's "terpatine". Ha!
  7. You know what? I've fixed more than one tv by doing the same thing with the flat of my hand against the outside of the cabinet. Back in the days when they used tubes they would get sort of corroded and a good whack once in a while kept them going.
  8. Brad, do you have a gallery of what you do? I'd like to see some of what you make. Just curious.
  9. This brings back a bad memory I have. I was in Las Vegas at a blackjack table many many years ago. I had too much to drink and passed out and fell off the stool onto the floor. They wheeled me out of the casino in a wheelchair. Embarrassed to say the least. Never did that again.
  10. Good luck to you on fixing the saw Nathan. I hope it's something simple so that you don't have to send it away.
  11. Kevin, I think you must have had a defective clamp as I find mine doesn't have that problem. My biggest gripe is in trying to get the blade in at the correct height but maybe Paul has the fix for that. I'm going to put a set of Pegas clamps into my budget in the near future and see if that fixes everything. Oh, and my apology for seemingly hijacking this thread. I said I wasn't going to do that anymore but here I am doing it again.
  12. Paul, I'll give your method a try. Another question.....I know this has probably been asked and answered a thousand times but here goes. Each clamp, both top and bottom has a thumb screw and the mating "anvil" on the opposite side. I have read both ways to adjust this anvil. I like it so it is set flush with the inside wall of the slot where the blade goes. But, from what I have read and heard, you are supposed to adjust it so it is partially into the slot and centered so the blade is centered in the slot. I find that makes it more difficult to install the blade. What is your take on this? Anybody else want to chime in?
  13. Scott, I have recently acquired a used EX21 and am too new with it to have found anything to dislike. What exactly do you like about the Pegas clamps and what didn't you like about the originals? I'm just trying to put all the info together before I buy the Pegas. The one thing that I have found so far that I'm not sure I like is the upper blade mounting. It is difficult to get the blade inserted in the exact spot it needs to go. Nothing to keep it from going all the way up into the spring. On my Dewalt, it is an easy shot to just push the blade all the way into the clamp and tighten the clamp screw. Does the Pegas solve that problem?
  14. Aren't we all.
  15. Spirithores, where do you live? Here in my area (So. Cal.) there are many great deals on top line saws on C/L. I have bought two of them and I feel that I stole both of them.
  16. Kevin, I've got a setup similar to Sycamore67's. I found a used Fein on C/L for a great price and I can tell you, it's very quiet. As Paul said though, it's the hissing/whistling/sucking noise right at the saw that is loud. I'm thinking of redoing mine in larger pvc with a wide mouth adaptor of some sort to see if I can make it quieter. Now that I have the EX, I am going to make something for it too. I left the long hose on the vac and run it to my saw across my small shop and when I'm using the EX it will probably be just outside the shop door and I can run the hose to it too. Anyway, the answer to your original question is, yes the high end vacs are quiet. Worth every penny in the long run. It just hurts at the time of purchase. Like anything worthwhile. When I was selling tools, my motto was "buy the best and cry only once". Makes sense.
  17. You are a devil Les.
  18. Thanks Kevin. That's a new one on me. I just checked it out. It seems to limit a person to within 500 miles. I guess that's ok. I don't want to drive very far anyway.
  19. I'm curious as to which online auction you bought it from. Was it on eBay? I have been watching but didn't see that one come up.
  20. Hey Marge, congrats on your new stuff. And, happy birthday in October.
  21. Yeah, a lab rat probably drowned in it so they outlawed it.
  22. It does seem strange that we can still buy paint thinner. From what I have read it's the same thing as mineral spirits but not as well refined. I sure would love to hear the reason behind the ban on MS.
  23. That stuff would be cheaper on the street corner Jerry. Sorry.
  24. There are a lot of them here in So Cal for $70 on up. I don't have room for a fourth saw so I'm not in the market.
