  1. I had a close friend who tossed many of his tools over his house out into a field. Never to be seen again. His forehead and knuckles were testament to each and every one. I'm sure someone with a metal detector will find a treasure trove someday.
  2. It seems strange that they have that many saws to offer when the Pegas saws haven't been around much longer than that. They would have had to do full replacements on those saws fairly recently in my thinking. Why not offer a warranty on them of some sort since they have been "factory reconditioned"? Strange for sure.
  3. I'm trying to rescue my latest project because something similar happened to me. I hate using BB because of it's fragility. I was trying to rout the edges of a tissue box that I made and went too deep too fast. Shredded the edges. Now I have to remove all the scrolled side panels and replace them. Never say die?
  4. Thanks for all the answers to my topic. I forget that where I live we don't have to separate the todo list into summer and winter projects. I was mostly worried that all the violent weather may have adversely effected the lives of those in the storm states. Glad to hear that nobody was in peril.
  5. All it needs is a propeller.
  6. Exactly Kevin. Cosmetics shouldn't void the mechanical warranty.
  7. I think we are saying the same thing but phrasing it differently. Refurbed anything should be about 30% off retail and still carry a full warranty. Everything I ever bought that way turned out to be better than new because it had been through production twice. Quality control twice.
  8. I think what Kevin meant was the for a refurb he'd expect more that a $200 discount. I misunderstood too.
  9. Denny, what I saw was over $700. About a $200 discount. I know someone at Bearwoods does videos on youtube so I'm thinking they are moving the used saws.
  10. Burger King was the first to sell microwaved burgers back in the late 60s. I've never been a fan of their food. But, what I had was called "Beyond Meat" and I think it was a soy/tofu mix. Whatever they did to it, it tasted and looked like meat and the texture was similar. It was good.
  11. I was wondering the same thing. Maybe selling their demos as refurbs.
  12. I never said that! I like eating stuff with eyeballs. But if I was forced to eat "green" I could eat that stuff. Maybe I was just hungry.
  13. On that note, we were at Costco yesterday and had my first sample of Beyond Meat. I must say I was impressed. Very tasty and I can imagine a burger made of it. Very juicy and tasted and felt just like a hamburger.
  14. We have close friends in Tennessee who bought a restored home on 11 acres that had been part of a tobacco plantation. They grow the most awesome gardens every year. But his year a freak rain storm came in a knocked all the corn down. Sad!
  15. When sitting facing your saw, on the rear left side, there is a slotted screw with a lock nut on it. For some strange reason they manage to get out of adjustment. All you have to do is loosen the lock nut, using a straight blade screwdriver turn that slotted screw out until the arm won't stay up. Then turn it in until you get the desired amount of "drag" on the arm when lifting it. Do it a couple of times to make sure it's where you like it. Then, while holding tension on the slotted screw, tighten the lock nut. If you really feel good about going farther, you can take that slotted screw all the way out and apply a tiny bit of grease to the ball bearing that is in the end of the screw to lubricate it. Then follow the instructions as to adjust the tension. It will be different now that it has lubrication on it. Good luck and ask questions if you have any.
  16. Love them little critters. Congrats a fine looking litter.
  17. What is everybody doing? On vacation? I certainly hope, with all the violent weather, that everybody is safe and well.
  18. Well, I didn't want to embarrass you twice.
  19. Well, I enjoyed it.
  20. I've never experienced what you have described Dan but I don't use Apple anything. I realize that Apple products are supposed to be a cut above all others but sometimes they do weird things. I've this from other folks who swear by them. I bought my wife an iPad 10 years ago for her birthday. At the time it was state of the art. She never took it. I tried to figure out what it was good for. It has lived it's life sitting on top of my PC, plugged into the USB port to stay charged. It's a $700 dust collector. The whole operating system is just foreign to me. I'd love to get some of my money back out of it.
  21. I'll be following along Don. I've begun to understand some of Inkscape's odd command language but most of it is still confusing to me. Somebody should write a dictionary of all the "command" meanings so that they aren't so obscure. After reading back through this thread I've come a long way since it started. But still have a very long way to go. I wish FrankEV lived next door so we could "brainstorm" together.
  22. Sorry Paul. Didn't mean to step on your popular ant.
  23. Just our curiosity Paul, what is a "popular ant"?
  24. The key point here is "having fun" and getting paid to do it. Who could complain about that. I have been doing handyman stuff around the park where I live and I enjoy it. I make a few bucks and help out the older folks who can no longer do it themselves. But, when I start to feel "used", I don't take the job. It's my time and I'll use it whatever way I want to. Except I have to check with the wife first. LOL.
