  1. Dick, I posted a pic of all 3 above. Scroll back a ways. And thanks for your kind words.
  2. Bowls are not that hard to make. Just requires attention to detail and a lot of sanding. Placement of drill holes is very important.
  3. No flame Kevin.
  4. The wood block should measure 30 mm and is for setting the laser height to work surface. I think the green plexi might be for shielding your eyes rather than glasses. Not sure. The brush I assume is for either cleaning the laser or brushing soot from work? The paper and wood pieces are for testing. The marker pen is for ???.
  5. Thanks Kevin. Much appreciated.
  6. I've got such a conglomeration of wood in varying thickness that I can put together almost any combination a person might want. I'm even thinking of making a painted set out of poplar.
  7. I know I promised no more candle holders but just wanted to show you all the completed set of 3.
  8. Gotta stay busy if possible. I do a lot of crossword puzzles when I'm not busy with something productive. It keeps my mind busy and helps me answer the Jeopardy questions.
  9. Not that tough. Don't be intimidated. Watch youtube.
  10. For sure. I didn't buy this for cutting. My only purpose is engraving.
  11. It's absolutely stunning! I love the old Ford trimotor. This one of yours may be my favorite. Just beautiful!
  12. Welcome back to the land of the "upright" Kevin. I hope you remain that way.
  13. I get the feeling that some maintenance may be needed as they include a brush with them. I didn't get any of that stuff with mine. There is an air assist kit available for them but not needed unless cutting from what I have read. I don't plan to cut with mine but who knows what is in my future.
  14. Very nice. I love bowls, baskets and boxes!
  15. Looks great Frank and I agree with everything you said. I didn't get any paperwork with mine as it was used so I just watched a few videos and went from there. There is another Villager here by the name of TAIrving that I met on Facebook on the Neje group. He has been a great help also. He has the same unit we have but I'm not sure what size. Mine is the large one. For what I originally intended I could have gone with the small one but I didn't find a deal on one so I have what I have. I will find a use for it at some point. For now, I'm going to be doing what have have done. I won't date anything that I might sell but will anything that I gift.
  16. Roll Tide!
  17. Immensely! Thanks! I'll just have to make some taller risers.
  18. It's definitely an interesting addition. I only wish I had more space to devote to it.
  19. How do you put tall things under it?
  20. Here's my first image and how I've got it laid out on a plastic table for now. I'll have to come up with a better setup for sure.
  21. When you mention "grid mat" can you give me some idea of what you are using? I've seen some folks using the green cutting mats. Is that what you use? Doesn't the laser burn it? My idea is to mount it to a solid 3/4" piece of plywood and cut a large hole in it to suspend the laser over. That way I can put tall pieces under the laser and adjust the height accordingly. I've been told to just elevate the laser on blocks but seems too unstable. I'm open to suggestions. Most of my creations have been 5" to 10" in height.
  22. Sounds like the U.S. 300 years ago. Who knows what's over there. Maybe time to check it out.
  23. Wait, what about "The Man From Snowy River"? You must have snow somewhere near a river.
  24. Not yet. Still in the studying stage. There were a couple of things missing and a broken wire in one harness. Also had/have many honey-dos so there is that too.
