    I'm curious Dave, does the table of the Pegas bandsaw have a pin in the side of it to align the two halves of the table? My Delta bandsaw has one and most every bandsaw I've ever seen also had one. I'd be surprised if your Pegas saw was different.

    The only shellac I've used to this date is the Zinnser's spray. Should there be something regarding wax on the can? I'll check it out but is it that easy? Another question comes to mind. These boxes are BB inner and outer. I want to leave the inner box natural but with some sort of finish applied to it just to seal it off. Then the outer BB is where the pattern is cut. This is the part that will be either stained or painted. In this case, it will be stained so you've answered that question. What can I use to seal the inner box but still be able to attach the outer panels with Weldwood glue?

    On this subject, I'd ask this question. Those of you who do a lot of projects in BB ply, how to you finish them? I made some tissue box covers and had a terrible time to stain to the desired color. I've backed away from staining BB and will either leave it natural with just a clear coat or paint it after using a sanding sealer. I admit that I'm very ignorant re: finishing so any help is appreciated. So far my finishing has been retricted to soaking in Watco natural and then after a good drying period, a couple coates of Zinnser's spray shellac. I'd love to know how to truly achieve a fine finish.

    I'd still do the glue-up first. I'm not sure how well the glues we all use will stick to the finished surfaces. Most of our finishes have oil in them and the glues depend on soaking into the wood fibers.

    What Wayne said. Here's a pick of the only bowl I've made to date. It's been watco'd. I also shot a coat of Zinnser's shellac at it but after the pic was taken.

    Bowls are not that hard to make. Just requires attention to detail and a lot of sanding. Placement of drill holes is very important.

    The wood block should measure 30 mm and is for setting the laser height to work surface. I think the green plexi might be for shielding your eyes rather than glasses. Not sure. The brush I assume is for either cleaning the laser or brushing soot from work? The paper and wood pieces are for testing. The marker pen is for ???.

    I've got such a conglomeration of wood in varying thickness that I can put together almost any combination a person might want. I'm even thinking of making a painted set out of poplar.

    Gotta stay busy if possible. I do a lot of crossword puzzles when I'm not busy with something productive. It keeps my mind busy and helps me answer the Jeopardy questions.

    I get the feeling that some maintenance may be needed as they include a brush with them. I didn't get any of that stuff with mine. There is an air assist kit available for them but not needed unless cutting from what I have read. I don't plan to cut with mine but who knows what is in my future.
