  1. Outstanding! So glad to hear of your forward progress. Be sure to show us what you produce. Glad to have you back "in the saddle" so to speak.
  2. Very interesting. On one of my used scroll saw purchases, I got a whole box full of blades with it and I just found a whole package of blades for metal cutting. Very tiny, very fine toothed blades. I'll have to give this a try some time.
  3. I don't know what you are going through but just know that my prayers are with both of you.
  4. The subject of spray boothes or areas has come up here more than once and while reading through an Instructable today, I ran across this idea being used in a high school shop class. If you have the room and get hold of an old camping tent, this makes perfect sense. Large enough to crawl into to paint but yet collapsible for storage. Pretty neat idea.
  5. Beautiful job. Your friend will be most appreciative I'm sure. I know I would be.
  6. Just wanted to wish all the Moms out there a very happy day.
  7. I have never been interested in making toys but this technique may change my thinking. I can see where it could be applied (no pun intended) to othe types of subject matter too. Thanks for a very interesting topic.
  8. No, but she hates seeing me "dumpster diving". She doesn't have the hoarding gene.
  9. Join the club. My shop is 9 x 13 and loaded to the max. I've got wood stashed all over it. One of these days, the termite police are going to come for me. I get cutoffs from Cherokee Woods whenever I go out to their yard. So far, everything has found a spot in my shop out just outside in one of my cupboards. I throw nothing away. My wife hates it.
  10. Beautiful work Eric. Just don't sit on them in the future.
  11. Beautiful. Just needs flowers.
  12. Hey Brenda, I've missed you. I hope everything is working out for you and life is good. Glad you're back both here and in your shop.
  13. No, not what I have in mind. I want a classroom setting with an instructor looking over my shoulder. I took one on Xcell years ago and it helped so much being in a class with others.
  14. I tried this and it did help. My problem is that I keep my table highly waxed and I had problems with stuff sliding off the table. I had a 2x4 under the rear feet. About 3 1/2" lift. Not sure of degrees. Maybe too much.
  15. Now you just need to get busy and build in the self-contained dust control system like I did on mine. Using a MetroVac 500 and a mini-cyclone its very small and is all underneath out of the way.
  16. Very nice Charley. I'm going to have to give them a try sometime. What wood do you use? It looks like maple. Something hard?
  17. Excellent feedback. Best of luck to you and please post pics of your work at some point. We do love to see what others are working on.
  18. Why? That thing is built like a workbench.
  19. Still waiting to hear how everything is going. Update maybe?
  20. That thing could double as a tank stand. Very nice job and well engineered. Are the 2x's all glued or just bolted together?
  21. Thanks Barb. I've tried using the clamp but it just didn't work out. Maybe I'll give it another try or figure out a better clamp. One of the 2 long cuts on the side either starts or ends in such a way that the clamp side is in the way. Maybe a small relief cutout on the clamp wall would help. Now you have me thinking. Thanks. My brain gets fogged often so I need folks like you to blow away the haze. Lol.
