  1. Damn! Dropping like flies. Stop it!
  2. Yes, he was an old man in his ways but was really younger than 3 of my kids. I don't think I have ever met anybody who was as polite and respectful of others than Brad. Such a loss. I'm tired of losing my "sawdust family. Everybody, listen up, STAY WELL! DON'T DIE!
  3. It seems he thought he had pneumonia but it was diagnosed as covid. Sad!
  4. We have lost another "sawdust" brother. Brad Barnhart, Scrollsaw703 passed away a few days ago. I have no details but you can read more on Facebook. His son,, Cliff Ashton, has a page there.
  5. Well, that looks pretty good to me. How can you improve on near perfection?
  6. Well, here it is in all its glory. Hopefully my customer will be happy. I applied a light coating of Watco natural and let it sit for 3 days. I got lucky with some nice warm dry weather. I shot 2 coats of poly. I think its done.
  7. It sounds like you are doing it right. Maybe send a PM to Travis and he can straighten out the problem. I've not gotten a "server error" message before.
  8. Can you give us an idea of how you are trying to post pics? It's really easy if you select the "add files" link and then point to where the pic is.
  9. If I can be of any help, let me know.
  10. Maybe the picture file was too big. Try resizing it. My phone was taking all my pics in high res so I had problems too. Now I run them through Irfanview and change them. No more problems.
  11. The lowest speed on mine is only good for the 1st 1/4".
  12. I take it the Dremel is in the rearview mirror?
  13. I have basically 2 of the same saws you have. I built my own roll-around stands for each one with self-contained vacuum dust control systems. I mounted them both directly to the plywood top. Both of my saws sit on foam shop flooring. The stuff advertised as anti-fatigue mat. I bought enough of the stuff at H/F to do the whole floor of my tiny shop. I get almost zero vibration out of any of my saw. My Hegner is not bolted down to the floor. It just sits on top of that same flooring. I do get a bit of vibration out of it way up in the RPM range but I very seldom got that fast.
  14. Been there and done that. This last time around, it was something that I couldn't fix. I needed some way to test out the electronics. Turned out to be the motor controller. If I have known that, I could have saved the repair charge and about $100 on the cost of the part. Oh, and thanks for your input on the drill press. I found a chuck that will fit mine and it closes to zero. Now I just have to figure out if it's worth the $50.
  15. That's an awesome display Dan. A large area too. I wish I had known about the show. I might have ventured north and visited. Maybe next time.
  16. Thanks. I appreciate your input. I've lightly coated it with Watco natural and will let it sit outdoors for a few days. I'm not in a big hurry so it can wait.
  17. I just found this one on Amazon. It looks like it will fill the bill. https://www.amazon.com/Jet-561706-TDC-501-Taper-Mount/dp/B0007XXI86/ref=pd_bxgy_1/138-0642384-6364469?pd_rd_w=N3fWf&pf_rd_p=c64372fa-c41c-422e-990d-9e034f73989b&pf_rd_r=PZGZY5R1H934C13MZCKF&pd_rd_r=93e4aa9d-4363-4767-8300-7f71dfb9ea34&pd_rd_wg=AfVwe&pd_rd_i=B0007XXI86&psc=1#
  18. I'm looking for that info right now.
  19. I've read here on the Village that some folks have better drill press chucks that will close down to zero. I'm hoping to find one of those that will fit my drill press.
  20. Can you tell me more about the micro chuck? I'm looking at Amazon right now but not finding what I want.
  21. I have numbers 56-60 and use the #58 the most. My problem is that I bought a 3 jaw adapter for my drill press and I can't get the bit to "center" in the chuck. My drill press is pretty tight so I know the problem is the tiny chuck. Any advice? I get pretty good job from my Dremel plunge router but it spins so fast it burns up the bits. If I slow it down, it has no power.
  22. Was it an inch thick? I'm stack cutting 4 layers.
  23. It's almost done. Only 30 more cuts.
  24. Every project is different for me. What I'm doing now is 1/2 and 3/4" oak but the one before it was 1/4" BB. My next one is stacked 4 high 1/4" hickory. Boy is that stuff hard. But it's working out great so far.
  25. Thanks Kevin. I brushed it on but not in large amounts. I knew it was going to soak up a lot if I dunked it so I just brushed it on and waited a few minutes and then wiped off as much as I could. It'll air dry now for 3 days and we'll see at that point.
