  1. Your cross looks great. It appears that your thread got taken over by other comments regarding the wood peeling!
  2. I wouldn't say I have a better handle on this subject. I can't figure out what sells and doesn't sell in my area!!! That being said, I haven't done a whole lot of shows
  3. Customer service is a huge thing for me. Bad customer service is the one reason I will not use Bearwood and when someone else does, I make other suggestions. Denny for US people and Garnet Hall (Sawbird) for Canadians.
  4. Here is his guitar with the shellac finish. He is quite proud of it. Everclear, if available, would be way too expensive to use for this. The isopropyl alcohol is what the guys at Woodessence recommended.
  5. My husband was putting together a guitar kit and purchased shellac flakes from here.https://www.woodessence.com/Shellac/Dry-Shellac Now that he has finished the guitar, I "stole" the shellac. Dissolved the flakes in 99% Isopropyl alcohol. Just trying it out on a project now.
  6. Welcome to the village from Winnipeg, MB
  7. I had the spelling wrong - it is Osmo finish. I like that it is eco friendly, developed in Canada, and if I remember correctly here in Manitoba. https://osmo.ca/ It is a wipe on finish. If you want a more opaque finish, just add more coats. I also tend to push a bit at the end or use the blade longer than I should.
  8. Very nice cutting.
  9. Marg, Here it is "broken" apart.
  10. Another beautiful piece of art.
  11. Maybe I should take a picture of it apart! Yes, it is three Lady Birds.
  12. I was excited to get the 20 Minute puzzle book. I originally wasn't going to buy it because if exchange and shipping rates. Found it at my local bookstore when I was there with my cousin. She purchased it for me as a thank you gift. She was staying for a family wedding. I got some cutting time today and knocked this one out. It did take me longer than 20 minutes to cut. And much longer to finish. This is 3/4"Aspen, cut using #5 mg blade and finished with Osmos finish (1 coat).
  13. I hadn't planned on buying this book because, if I order through Fox Chapel the shipping and exchange rates make it way too expensive. I was just at the local bookstore with my (visiting) cousin and saw it. Pick it up and said, "This one is coming home with me". Got to the register and my cousin picked up the tab for being a house guest!! Yeah me!
  14. Looks great. I also am an impatient person which is why I tend to not do anything with glue-ups.
  15. Snow is a form of precipitation that falls in the winter time. We had way too much of it this year.
  16. This is where I like to spend time. 20210718_135634.mp4
  17. Thanks Denny!
  18. That's exactly what I did for my earrings and necklace.
  19. Great modification! I will have to bookmark it for next year!
  20. Those look great. You have an amazing finish on them.
  21. That is exactly what I did for these. Found the clip art, printed, glued to the wood & cut. They were for a Halloween costume.
