  1. I think that looks great. Years ago, our local newspaper ran items on unique houses. There was an architect who used this as the flooring and just coated it with clear finish.
  2. I bought a band saw last year and have only used it a couple of times. I think my son-in-law has used it more than me!!! I have some wood glued up waiting to get time to make a bandsaw box.
  3. Welcome to the village from another Canadian!! Where are you located?
  4. I usually end up gluing them to the back with superglue. Too afraid to use the nails!!
  5. I like the first one better.
  6. Beautiful work. Amazing the difference in the Robins.
  7. As I line follower, I too, would like to thank all the pattern makers. Thank you for your amazing talent.
  8. Here they are finished. Used a pencil crayon to do subtle colour on the nose and hoves. Also Mrs. Clause. Not really happy with Mrs.
  9. That looks like Kaa from The Jungle Book!
  10. They are also available from King Canada, which were a lot cheaper than the DeWalt brand. http://files.kingcanada.com/catalog/products/servicemanualxm/KXL-16 service manual.pdf. However it did take awhile for the service center to get them in.
  11. That is beautiful. Love the colours in it.
  12. I had the option to open as a pdf or photo. This first option didn't work, but opening as a photo did. It seems to be just a picture of the ornaments, not the patterns
  13. I have also got "Fred" cut & glued together. Just need to put a finish on them.
  14. Bill, they are just basic craft acrylic paints. Picked up 12 colours from Michael's a couple of years ago.
  15. Here are my finished gnomes. Reduced to 70%
  16. Cut and painted this afternoon. Still have to glue together.
  17. I'll take one! Great cutting
  18. I cut this a few years ago. If you want a taller piece I would suggest cutting it in two pieces and glue together, then sand the exterior and interior flush. The main body is 1" thick with the top is 1/8" and bottom is 1/4". I think this was my first attempt at a "box". I keep it by my chair and put earring in at the end of the day!. Should probably get around to finishing it properly!!
  19. Very nice. K.I.S.S. (keep it simple silly)
  20. I have also put things aside to cut something that has caught my eye. My problem is that the 9 - 5:30 full time job gets in the way of cutting!!
  21. Looks great. I got as far as printing it. Actually downsized it to 70% and hope to get to the saw this weekend. It will mean that the mandalas I have been working on get put aside!
  22. There is just one problem with this shop - if you look at the floor plan in the link, there is no scroll saw!!!
  23. I give ornaments to my nieces & nephews every year. The compound cut ones are for them, Sue Mey pattern. The grandson and grandnephew are getting the puzzles. The son-in-law is getting the shelf.
  24. I have been using a piece of sand paper glued to a smooth ceramic tile. Just rub the piece over the sandpaper. Have a couple of tiles with different grits.
  25. Late to the game --- we have a boat that we spray the bimini with waterproofing spray every year. Never can be too careful!
