    Just completed my first sale. Success! Just over $400 in sales. Was at a 55+ assisted living place, so it was mostly the residents that purchased. Sold mostly ornaments, all 3 of the round nativity boxes I had and a couple of other items. Sold the ornaments for $10 each. Everything else was priced between $15 & $40. I have attached photos of the set up. I must say thanks to all of you who helped, even though you probably don't realize it. Reading the various threads about what you do at sales certainly helped!!

    Good luck to you! I finally signed up for my first show this year after 3 years of scrolling. My show is at a retirement community - not doing business cards as I am not particularly interested in taking orders, would not have time to do before Christmas.

    In Canada, Thanksgiving is always the second Monday in October.

    Some of us are allergic/intolerant to earrings with posts, you can also get hooks at the craft store - here in Winnipeg I go to Michael's. Anything I have made is with 1/8" woods. I just usually dip in tung oil.

    A couple of years' ago, when I had just started out, I had the same thought. I was getting very frustrated at trying to cut a straight line for the manger on the nativity pattern. Went out and bought a magnetic fence and had even more issues. Now I realize that it is just practice, practice, practice. I am getting better at cutting straight lines.     Just cutting the same thing. I am using bbply and stack cutting 3. Hope they turn out as good as yours.

    Love when a quick project works out. My daughter is always taking my comb, hopefully this stays around for awhile!! Cherry wood with a food safe wax/oil product I bought years ago to restore some knife handles.

    Steve Good pattern in poplar. So far just dipped in Tung Oil. Might spray with clear coat finish.

    Me too. I have actually hurt myself more on a sewing machine more than my scroll saw. Needle through the finger - ouch!!!

    Haven't tried putting them in the saw, will have to try that. I use them for hand sanding.

    Nice video - good to watch - it was nice to see someone comment on the time it took to cut - I keep watching videos and wonder what I am doing wrong as it always seems to take me forever to cut a project! I watched this and thought it would take me well over an hour to cut!

    I use ziploc bags. They can be sealed and they have a spot to write the type of blade on. Hang them with christmas hooks on an old utensil holder.

    They all look great! But 19 puzzles in a day??? Do you stack cut any, or are they all individually cut?? I looked at that and wondered, when do you sleep??

    Okay, not sure if this is where the comment belongs. Just finished reading this thread and the other one about finishing. I am lost!!! I am just using either Minwax Tung & Teak oil or Watkins Danish oil. I thought that was all that was needed to finish a piece. Am I missing something???? At this point I mostly cut bb ply stuff.

    I thought it was just me - I have a can of the Elmer's because I couldn't find the 3M stuff at the time - patterns keep "popping" up. Also it seems to stick on it self and keeps spraying after I have taken my finger off the top. I guess I should just chuck it and find some other glue:)

    Just bought some wood from Woodchuckers. I happened to be in Toronto, so was able to tough the wood. They shipped it to me in Winnipeg. $1/pound. Arrived by Canada Post.     I attached different grits of sand paper to a ceramic tile for a nice flat surface. The tiles are easy to store, but always available. Read the tip in a Carol Rothman book.

    No club here in Winnipeg, MB. Have met a couple of people who are no longer scrolling. Don't know if I would want to be involved in a club, mostly because I end up getting too involved!!! Would like to meet some other scrollers just to know that I am not alone (here in Winnipeg!!)
