  1. Just got back from auction with the saw. $150 total for everything. Be a good backup saw for my EX21.
  2. I checked out the saw Friday evening. That is how I know it is in good shape and the number of blades in the box. I will let you know how things come out. Thanks for the response.
  3. I will be going to an auction this Sat april 30 that has a Hawk 220VS that looks to be in great shape. What would you all think a fair price for it would be? I live in east central Indiana. I have a EX21 but thinking you can always use two or more of everything LOL. Thanks PS the box on the machine has about $75 worth of blades in it.
  4. I posted this on the other forum also and got about the same comments. It is great to get good honest opinions from people and not the normal pat on the back answers. I don't think you can get better if no one tells you the truth. The shoes are the smallest ones I could find and when you see the picture in person they don't look so overpowering. But I see what some of you are saying. I will be taking this to the local 4H fair in June and will let you all know what the judge thinks about it. But again that is just another person's opinion. And Kevin you are so right, the wife is always right and if the judge thinks it sucks it will be her fault. Thanks again everyone!!!
  5. I don't remember if I posted this picture on here or now but here it is anyway. When I made an framed it I felt it needed something more. My wife said that horse (pony) shoes an barb wire would look good. What do you all think?
  6. I am going to do this same pattern for my wife who has a stain glass shop called "Cattails". I was looking at the pattern and it looks like the frog isn't attached to anything is it attached to the backer as an overlay? I am going to use stain glass as a backer, I think I know were I can get a piece cheap LOL
  7. Don't know how old your saw is but mine after 5 years of use the bearings that holds the bottom clamp wore out. This let the arm "jerk) the blade loose.
  8. Is this your pattern? I would like to make a few of them also.
  9. If I can add my 2 cents worth. This is just me but I think it would look better with the dog all the way over to the right of the frame to look like it was coming out of the frame and not floating in air. Nice pattern and cutting!
  10. Thanks guys, don't know if you don't ask
  11. I see some say they use #3/0 blade is that the same as a #3 blade? If so why the /0 just asking.
  12. When I started scroll sawing I didn't even think about trying to put the blade in from the bottom. It seemed to make sense to put the blade in the top were you can see the hole. I trained myself to just felt under the table at the clamp an place the blade into the clamp without looking or even thinking about what I am doing. Tried to bottom feed and couldn't find the hole like I can looking down on it. Just me. PS: I have a EX 21
  13. I use the saw tooth hangers also but I glue them on using two part poxie. Also I put the small teeth pointing up this lets you move more on the hanging nail.
  14. I have the back of my saw raised about 3". Didn't bolt in down legs just set on the boards. Been that away for 5 years.
  15. I had this trouble with mine. It was the small arm that attaches to the motor and runs the control linkage. The bearing was bad in the arm. I could push the arm in with a piece of wood an the noise would go away. Ray is a big help even if you didn't buy from him.
  16. Have been having trouble with the bottom blade clamp not holding the blade. Did all the normal things but no help. Noticed the bottom clamp assembly moving about 1/8" up and down. The bearings on the top bolts (pencil pointing to) had worn out. This caused a lot of "jerking" which would make the blade come out of the clamp. Syco said the new assembly has been made stronger and shouldn't have this trouble again. The saw runs and sounds like new again.
  17. Got the paper at Hobby Lobby. Just colored paper not sure the proper name.
  18. A man seen the military circles I made out of plywood and asked if I could do them in hard wood. Wanted them made 10." Going to put them in a veterans home for there Christmas. Told him it would be $40 each but he said no way they are worth $60 each. Old saying "customer always right". Made out of curly red oak, cherry and walnut.
  19. Sorry about the bad wording on my part. No I didn't make the pattern I did cut one.
  20. I made this pattern sometime back also. The information on the pattern is, 2003 Old Griz Scroll Art, by Thomas J Mullane Jr. The lighthouse is the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse
  21. I think we are done with this project! Ended up making $700 for the church (140 ornaments). Yes it is United Methodist church.
  22. I use the 3m 77 also. Tape the wood with blue tape, spray the TAPE not the paper than cover with clear packing tape. I spray the tape and not the paper so I don't get glue on my hands that away.
  23. Thanks everyone!
  24. I got a new one from seyco. They redo the level so it locks in place a lot better than the one from the factory and I have had mine for over a year an it still locks like new.
  25. Our church needed some extra money for an emergency repair on the building. My wife said how about making some Christmas ornaments an let the people buy them for $5.00 each an use the money for the repair. I of little faith thinking maybe I will have 10 or 15 ornaments to make turned out to be 115 SO FAR. Some have mag on back. I cut them and the wife glues them together. We keep no money from them.
