  1. Staples for me.
  2. I have a shop vac on mine & it works good. I may change the top to what he is using. I used peg board.
  3. Sand your wood before you cut the pattern & you wouldn't have to sand after.
  4. On this subject if you have a circle that is 8" across & you want to make it 14" how do you figure what % to put into the printer?
  5. Thanks for the kind remarks! I forgot to add a committee member. The eagle head and small eagle was taken from a Steve Good pattern.
  6. Had a request from a woman whose husband is retiring from teaching for 41 years. She sent me the picture of the school building and what she wanted to have on it. Chachi did the first draft and than Bitchbark (Russell) helped to change some things which I am most thankful for! Thanks Russell for jumping in an working with me. I changed a few things on my own with the help of my wife. She suggested the scroll work by the eagle head and the wood burning. For got to add it is 10"x14" made of oak and cut using FDUR #5, #3 and #3 new spirals. This is old school cut & paste. LOL
  7. Why can't you go across state line and buy one to take home?
  8. I have been using a 5hp shop vac with a dust deputy for about 5 years with no problem. I move the hose to whatever tool I am using. And runs when I use foot switch for saw. Hasn't burned out shop vac so far. 5 years. Also I have a jet air filtration system.
  9. Another big difference is the Pegas blades don't have the drift other blades do. After all these years of feeding the line at an angle it takes some time getting use to not having to do that. Be really nice for a new scroller.
  10. On Steve Good's video he said he wasn't getting all the dust like the demonstration he seen but went back home and set it up the way the man showed him an it worked perfect. No dust on the table or under. Maybe you just need to keep moving things around. my 2 cents worth. Like to see one on a EX.
  11. Want to thank everyone for all the kind words!
  12. Sorry have to ask. What are they?
  13. The napkin holder is a Sheila Landry pattern made out of red oak. Stable plaque is by Sue Mey made out of cherry, walnut & yellow heart.
  14. Date your first projects an look at them in a couple of months to see how you improve.
  15. Thanks Rolf & Bill. My palm sander is about used up. So now I'm in same shape as Sam77 lol. Always good to shop for tools.
  16. What is the advantage of an orbit sander over a palm sander?
  17. What is the advantage of an orbit sander over a palm sander?
  18. Rolf. It is poplar planning on staining when an if I ever get the set done
  19. Seen the Steve Good pattern that some of you have made and I liked it so much I just had to do one myself. Made out of 3/4" hickory with 1/8" painted backer.
  20. Just to put this to bed, Scrollsaw703 sent me a very nice PM. It is hard to "hear" someones tone of voice in a forum. Let everyone know 703 an I are good.
  21. SAW703 I have been scrolling for about 7 years and have always used FD. I have a EX 21 that cuts like a champ and I know how to keep things adjusted to get max out of blades. Cutting two 1&1/2" compound pieces and 14 other things is (IMO) a lot to ask of a single blade no matter the brand. Not to forget hitting a nail with the blade. The FD UR #5 more than likely will still my go to blade for anything under 3/4". One other thing about the Pegas is it doesn't have the drift the FD does. The Pegas needs to be feed straight into the line not at a angle like the FDs. Takes some getting use to going from one to the other. Dan let us know think of the Pegas when you try them.
  22. I cut 14 of the stands and 2 cress pieces with ONE #5 Pegas Modified Geometry blade. Also I nipped a nail that was holding the stack together but didn't seem to hurt anything.
  23. Dan - yes the "bread" is glued onto the board. Board is made of oak, purple & yellow heart. It is a Carole Rothman pattern.
  24. Carole was nice to send me a copy of her bread box pattern. This is the first segmentation project that I have tried. I cut it out of a piece of 2" cherry with a pegas #5 modified geometry blade. As I have said in other post that is one heck of a cutting blade. Will use on all thick hard wood from now on.
  25. Sometimes it is fun to just do a fast easy project!
