  1. Nice one John!
  2. Not me. I am a top feeder and the new Jet saw is strictly a bottom feeder.
  3. Great job on a rush job!
  4. One other thing that has not been mentioned is speed of the drill. There are drilling speed charts available online. One is on the Wood magazine web site. If you are not using a drill press, you will have to experiment with your hand drill.
  5. Excellent cutting Marg!

  8. Another fine job by our great designers! I will cut each and every one for next years shows. Thanks to Travis for a wonder cause! I always donate to the local food bank. Thank to all involved!
  9. Great looking project Hans!

  12. Larry, did you know that your saw came with a tool to open the fuse holder? There is no explaination in the manual for what it is used for though. You can use a very small screwdriver. There is a small slot at the top of the fuse holder. Push the tip of the screw driver into the slot. It will pop open. But chances are, the problem is the switch. That's what usually goes first. Somewhere on this site I have some pictures describing how to open the fuse holder. Let me see if I can find them. Ok, I just found it. It's in general scroll saw, I just bumped it to the top.
  13. Very nice display and great items Theresa! My only criticism is everything is packed in to close together. I think you could of used a table along with the display stand you have. Your one little display looks lonely in that space.Otherwise, you and your dads items look great! A question for you, where did you get the display?
  14. Amazing display Lee! You have received good advice above which I agree with all so I won't reapeat any except taking credit cards. Square is so easy! They will send you the swiper for free or you can buy it at office stores and Target and even Walmart. They only charge 2.75% per transaction and the money is in your account the next business day. You can use it on your smart phone, but I use my iPad with a hotspot. My sales increased 50% when I started taking cards! I enter every sale, cash or credit into the Square register so at the end of the day you have a complete record of your sales. Square also emails daily and yearly sales reports. It is an essential tool!
  15. Happy Thanksgiving to all in the great USA!
  16. Congratulations on your sons achievement Randy, you have every right to be proud! Those two coins will be cherished for a life time. Beautiful work!
  17. I used to use screws too, but I discovered that for small projects glueing is very adequate if done properly. For scroll saw projects I use Aleen's tacky glue. I apply a very small amount to one surface. Using a toothpick, I spread the glue to make a very thin layer while removing excess glue. Mount the two pieces together pressing them together with a slight twist. Then with a clean toothpick, I scrap off any excess glue before it dries. I have been doing it this way for years and have never had a failure. As far as stain, I never stain! I always use hard woods which usually impart their natural color when oil is applied. I do not reccomenc using mineral oil though. While it is reccomended for cutting boards and utensils, it is not for plaques and such as it never fully dries and could stain furniture. Always use products designed as a finish, mineral oil is not.
