I have a customer who wants three photographs that he wants cut into puzzles. Unfortunately, he has already glued the photos to very thin Masonite just under 1/8". I want to laminate that to 1/8" or 1/4" Baltic Birch plywood for durability and strength. I would use Titebond III. Does anybody see a problem with that?

Great looking plaque and nicely cut! I would rather struggle with removing the pattern after cutting, than struggle with the pattern coming off while cutting. I use 3M 77 spray adhisive. A light mist is all you need. Spray it on the back of the pattern, let it tack up for about 30 seconds or so. Apply it to the wood and start cutting. To remove the pattern I either spritz on some mineral spirits, let it sit fot about a minute and the pattern will just fall off, or I use a heat gun on the pattern. This will soften the adhisive and allow you to lift the pattern off.

Hey Randy, welcome to the Village! Are you an experienced scroller? It has been my experience that cutting at very slow speeds tend to lift the project of the table especially thin veneers. You are better off sandwiching the veneers between two thin boards like 1/8" Baltic birch plywood. But to answer your question, no, you can not add anything to reduce the speed without burning up your motor.

Hey Dan, any saw that has a lifting top arm is a top feeder, although you can still bottom feed if you want. If the saw does not have a lifting top arm, you can only bottom feed. The saws that are top feeding friendly are the DeWalt 788, the Excalibur EX 21 and EX 16, the Delta cloanes and I believe the Buston Hawks. Although the new Jet has a lifting top arm, the clamps do not allow you to top feed.
