  1. Beautiful box Ron!
  2. The EX 19 is one of the original Excalibur saws made in Canada which means it is at least 15 and maybe 20 years old. As was mentioned above, there are no replacement parts available for it.

    A Rose

That is a very nice piece Chad! I've always liked Wades patterns. I wish he'd come over and share his talents with us.
  4. Nice work Tony! So how did the cutting of the Rosewood go?
  5. I'm curious, is that laser cut? All the exposed edges are burnt.
  6. Nice!!
  7. Great work TerryLee! Love the backer board, Nail holes and all !
  8. Nice work Roly! Defiantly a Grampa pattern. Been on my todo list fo a long time.
  9. Nice work Al ! I still don't have a team. I'm in So. Ca. Defiantly not a Rams fan! I am a Kings fan though!!
  10. Tony, be careful with Rosewood as it can be quite an irritant. Not many woods bother me, but Rosewood definitely does. Wear a dust mask and maybe even gloves. As for finish, you may not even need a finish as the wood will polish up very nicely. You definitely do not need to stain or oil it, just a top coat to protect it.
  11. Nice work Robert!
  12. Great work Dave!
  13. Nice cutting Nathan! In my opinion, pine is too soft for stand up puzzles. The wood dents easily and pieces could break off. You need to use a hard wood like Poplar or Maple especially if you plan on selling them.
  14. Nice work Dan!
  15. Danny, you don't have to top feed on these saws. In fact, bottom feeding is easier because the top arm lifts up out of the way making it easier. But I do recommend top feeding though. Like was mentioned, I would never buy a saw that didn't have a lifting top arm!
  16. Nice work Raiph!
  17. Excellent work as usual Todd!!
  18. As a scroll saw instructor, I teach my students to anticipate this. As was mentioned above, most blades have a bur on the right side of the blade. This bur causes the blade to cut to the right. You have to adjust the angle of the work piece to cut straight. Each blade will have a different degree of drift so you have to adjust for each blade. Draw some straight lines on a scrap board and practice cutting straight. A very wise man ( Mike The Flying Dutchman) once said: "Cutting a straight line on a scroll saw is like driving down a straight road. You have to move the wheel left and right to keep it straight". Practice, practice, practice and it will come to you naturally.
  19. Hey Danny, all I can say is once you go to top feeding, you can never go back!!! The Delta, DeWalt and EX's are all top feeders. Try it, you might like it!!
  20. I think he applied a finish before was to keep the pen ink from running into the Baltic birch plywood.
  21. I think you stole it!! It's probably worth about $250.
  22. Hi Mary. There is an old saying in woodworking: "I cut it three times, and it's still to short". Meaning once you have cut it to small, you can't fix it. A spiral blade leaves too wide of a kurf. For any puzzle, weather it's a zig saw puzzle or a stand up puzzle, you must use a flat blade. It makes a much thinner kurf. For jigsaw puzzles, you want to use a 2/0 or smaller blade. Flying Dutchman sells a puzzle blade that is a 3/0 skip tooth blade. My advice is to recut the puzzle with a more appropriate blade.
  23. So, did you finally find them?
  24. Hey Robert, I can't help you with the Hegner, I just wanted to welcome you to the Village! Lots of helpful folks here as you have already experienced. Hope to see some of your work, so, come on in and join the fun!
