  2. Actually I was thinking the "Trivet King"!Great work Steve!
  3. Hey Dennis, nice cutting! I do see some splintering and chip out. What blades are you using?
  4. Nice work Dan, they look very nice. Certainly not a criticism, but rather a curious question, is there any reason the lower case of the g in the name plaque couldn't be completely cut without the small bridge?
  5. Unfortunately, there is no easy way out. I had a 16" saw for years and wished for a better way till I got my first DeWalt saw. The difference was like night and day. You have what you have till you upgrade!
  6. Excellent work Todd! You'll get more points if you put in a hand made frame 😉
  7. Beautiful work Clayton!
  8. Hey Scott, welcome to the Villiage! Come on in and join the fun!

  16. Oh bummer Travis! The only good thing here is a learning experience for the rest of us!
  17. Hey Kyle, welcome to the Village! I'm Dan from Southern California. Thes is a great place to share scroll saw info. Come on in and join the fun!
  18. I'd be interested to know if the brushes on a DeWalt saw have ever failed. Been using DeWalt saws for twenty years, I have taught scroll saw at the local Woodcraft store for the last six years and have been a member of a very large woodworkers club for the last 14 years. I have never heard of brushed failing on the DwWalt saw. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I've just never heard of it happening.
  19. Hey Ralph, I just sent you a private message.
  20. Ok Ralph, try this. First unplug the saw. Open up the cover that houses the controls. Unplug the connectors on the switch. Using electrical tape, tape the two connectors together making sure the are touching each other. Plug the saw in. If it runs, the problem is with the switch. If not, it's time to take it in. On Monday I will write a tutorial on how to take the switch apart and clean it.
  21. If you are still blowing fuses, it's probably not the switch.
  22. It looks like it's time to take it in. I have two DeWalt saws, so I always have a saw if something happens to one. Keep a look out on Craig's List. They come up often. It never hurts to have a spare!
  23. It's probably the switch. If you have a compressor try blowing air into the switch while rocking the switch off and on. If that doesn't do it, you will need to remove the switch. If you can do that, I'll walk you through taking the switch apart to clean it.A lot of folks tape the switch in the on position and use a foot switch. Personally, I don't like using a foot switch so I deal with cleaning the switch when needed.
  24. Welcome back Clayton. Looking forward to seeing some pics!
  25. I use BLO on all of my scroll saw projects but I mix it 50/50 with mineral spirits. The thinned mix flows faster and more evenly around the project, but more importantly, it drys a lot faster. Here in So. California, usually in 24 hours or so.
