    Hello!

Welcome to the Village Linda! Lots of friendly folks here willing to help and answer questions. Don’t be afraid of that saw. I tell my students you could cut off a finger, but you would have to change the blade once or twice!

It’s amazing work Tony knowing that you use a hand fret saw, not a scroll saw!
  7. Excellent work Scott. Would love to see the front of that clock!
  8. Seems to me you will have to eliminate your banner saying no lasers!
  9. Excellent! I love that one!
  10. John, not speaking for the OP but I use the mop sander to soften the edges of stand up puzzles. It’s easier than hand sanding or using a round over bit in a router.
  11. First of all, slow down the drill press. Second, clamp a “backstop” to the drill press table.
  12. Looks good Gordie!
  13. Keep at it, but take it easy Kevin. You need to let your body heal.
  14. Cool work!
  15. Well, it looks great! Nice job!
  16. Very nice!
  17. That looks great Mimi!
  18. Amazing work Jeff!
  19. Sanding the ends of the blade is one of the first things I teach my students. Sanding removes the oils on the blade and prolongs the life of the thumb screw tip. In addition to sanding the blades, to keep the the tip of the thumb screw clean, I dress it with a simple jig and sand paper.
  20. Personally, I am not a fan of pine for my projects. I do use pine when I'm teaching new students because it’s cheap and easy to cut, but for my projects I always use Hardwoods. I do use Baltic birch plywood for portrait type projects. Pine is too soft especially for puzzles.
  21. Very nice Tammi. Are you going to apply a finish?
  22. Well let me know so I can straighten up the shop. I don’t mean clean the shop, that will never happen! if you do decide to come up, make a list of things you would like to work on or questions you you might have.
  23. Well Ray, I suppose we could set up a shop date at my shop if you want to drive up to Ventura County. Moorpark is between Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks. I’m guessing about 1 1/2 hours drive time.
  24. Great work Steve. Oscar is wonderful!
