  1. Great work. Someone will appreciate these very much.
  2. Are you a guitarist, too? I've been playing for 50 years.
  3. I can't go for more than a couple weeks before I need a listen to some Pink. Get on it!
  4. Pink Floyd guitarist. I can almost hear the Comfortably Numb solos when I look at this picture. Such sweet sounds!
  5. Does anyone know where there is a tutorial to grease the bearings on the Dewalt?
  6. Well said.
  7. Len, I appreciate your observations. I don't think you are too harsh, but I do completely disagree. I don't enjoy making patterns from drawings that are nearly patterns just as they are. I seek challenge. The artist who painted the gunman did not paint a perfect replica of a man with a gun. He painted it so that the viewers would have to use their imaginations and senses to discover the meaning of the piece. I loved the theme of this picture, and that is what I tried to reproduce in my wood cutting. I'm not much of a fan of straight lines.
  8. I just finished cutting this from a pattern that I made off a painting I found online.
  9. I just finished cutting this Christmas present for my nephew. From an original painting by western artist and author, Will James. No stain or varnish yet. 11x14" oak ply.
  10. Absolutely. Make me an offer, please.
  11. I just finished cutting this one today. No stain or varnish yet. I made the pattern from a painting I found online.
  12. I decided to add some Hawaiian background to this picture, so the bird would be seen in its natural habitat. I got the background pattern from another photograph by Darcy Fiero. This is truly a collaboration between the photographer and myself. I have included her in the process of pattern making along the way. It's a great experience, and I hope it's the beginning of more collaborations like this to come. This updated version is pretty raw. You can see the darker area in the wood from where I used paint thinner to remove the pattern. Not yet dry.
  13. This is going to be so cool when finished. You can already tell that it is on the way to greatness.
  14. You guys are the greatest. Your comments are so appreciated, and what keeps me so interested in this wonderful hobby.
  15. I just cut this one. The original photo is by Hawaiian photographer, Darcy Fiero.
  16. It's long overdue for me to cut a piece in honor of the military. I very much appreciate the sacrifice they make to keep up safe and free. I was asked to make the pattern for this one for a magazine for scrollers, and it may be published.
  17. I cut this picture of my Hawaiian niece for her family. I designed my pattern with GIMP2.
  18. Len, I know exactly what you mean. I used the spiral exclusively on this one, because the original photo was kinda "fuzzy", and I thought straight cuts would look out of place on this. If I had to do it again, I would probably try it with your suggestions. Thank you for your honest and valuable observations.
  19. One of my Facebook friends posted an old photo of a guy on a motorcycle, and it just kinda called out to me to try cutting it. The photo wasn't very good, so making the pattern was a challenge. I finished cutting it yesterday. No stain or varnish yet
  20. Thank you all for your support. This is what keeps me going.
  21. I just finished cutting this scroll saw picture. I made the pattern for it from an original photo by Himani Smeaton. I'm on a Hawaiian kick lately, if you couldn't tell. I really miss Maui.
  22. I didn't want to muddy up the picture with the island names. Leave something to the imagination. Besides, I know the names of these islands so well, and this one is just for me.
  23. No paint! I love the look of natural wood. Otherwise I would just buy the map.
  24. Just finished cutting this one. Still needs stain and varnish. Took about twenty-five hours to cut. I made the pattern from the picture I found online.
  25. Thanks for all the help. I did try blowing out the dust, and it didn't work this time. So I bypassed the manufacturer switch and am using a power strip with an on/off switch. OK so far, but I can sure see the value in getting a foot switch.
