  1. Hi from northern CA. If you get into scrolling, you're gonna love this group. Very supportive, encouraging, and above-all, friendly. I have a DeWalt, too, and I love it.
  2. I would like to publish my patterns, someday. I don't know what process is necessary to get published.
  3. Yes, Len. I'm kind of a pattern snob...I only want to cut my own. Making the pattern is the most satisfying part of the process for me.
  4. Just finished cutting this. World War II fighter plane.
  5. Thanks for the comment. I use a Pegas 2/0 Spiral. I really love that blade.
  6. Yes it does! I'd rather be doing just about anything else than dentistry. I'm soooo glad to be out of that.
  7. This one took a lot of work. Pattern design was difficult and LOTS of cuts. Glad it done. 11"x14" Baltic Birch Ply
  8. I have reached out to the photographer. She knows that I will not profit from her work without her permission and compensation to her.
  9. I just cut this. I made the pattern from a photograph by Himani Smeaton.
  10. Very cool! Makes me want to give it a try.
  11. I made the pattern for this cutting from a painting by James Mann.
  12. Thank you all for your comments.Your input is what keeps me striving to create. I searched a lot to find a photo that captured the greatness of Johnny Cash. This photo was, by far, the best. However, it became very problematic that the background was all black. I spent a lot of time doing trial-and-error pattern development before I got this one just the way I wanted it.
  13. Adding in the extra detail is becoming my "signature". I think it makes the piece.
  14. I cut this new scroll saw portrait today. Pattern design and cutting took about 6 hours.
  15. Frank, let me know if you want any help with the pattern making.
  16. Kevin, as a kid, I spent time in a town with a saw mill. Old locomotives brought harvested pines into the mill throughout the day and night, and I loved to watch them come and go. I also got to ride on a passenger train over the Sierras from Sacramento to Reno a few times. It was pulled by an engine like the one in this picture.
  17. I still love old trains as much as I did as a kid. I made the pattern for this from a painting by James Mann.
  18. Pattern made by me from a photo I found online.
  19. I made the pattern for this from a painting by Stephen Jorgensen that I found online. I cut out two of the paddlers to simplify the design and improve the look of the cutting.
  20. This dog is the best I've ever had (throughout over 50 years of having dogs, one at a time). Pattern designed on GIMP2.
  21. Wow...when you come back, you don't mess around! Glad you are back. The crosses look fantastic.
  22. Thanks for sharing your your work and your idea. Looks great
